Job Description:

In January 2020, Langara College migrated its HR and finance operations to the cloud-based Workday ERP platform. Langara is now moving into an exciting new phase of transforming its Student Information Systems (SIS) through a suite of solutions, including the Workday Student product. This role is part of the Student Information System Program team that specifically supports training activities within individual projects including, preparing operational leads to deliver training to their operational teams. Training experience in Workday (or cloud-based ERP) implementations preferred.

Under the general guidance of the Manager, the Training Specialist plans, develops, and facilitates or delivers end user training on improved processes and supporting suite of solutions or technologies. The Training Specialist is responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing learning materials, evaluating, and for managing all phases of end user training. The Training Specialist is an integral member of the team and has a strategic perspective and a broad-based understanding of business operations whilst supporting the impacted stakeholders in understanding and adapting to new processes and solutions.

 

Qualifications Required:

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Bachelor’s degree in technology, education, communications, organizational development, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience: in developing training materials and delivering training to business end users.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Solid understanding of training planning, development, and delivery frameworks. Proven knowledge and continuous learning of organizational development and training discipline and best practices and demonstrated contributions to practice improvement.
  • Knowledge of organizational training management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience facilitating diverse groups to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Experience in writing effective technical documentation.
  • Higher-education or public sector experience is an asset.

Salary Range:

$39.56 – $58.03 per hour

Pay Grade:

Admin Paygrade 08

Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat (PSEC).
