Summary of Job:

The Learning and Safety Assistant is responsible for providing administrative, clerical, and project support to Learning and Development and Safety groups. This position has a dual reporting relationship to the Director of Learning and Organizational Development and the Director of Safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the L&D and Safety team as directed, including assistance with calendar coordination, correspondence, presentations, and various communications.
  • Build courses, review training, assign training, schedule offerings, run reports, and other tasks in Workday Learning.
  • Provide support and guidance to managers on the performance management process in Workday.
  • Assist with the administration of Lee Company University (LCU), including registration, attendance tracking, banquet planning, and providing instructor and student support.
  • Manage and coordinate general training and safety calendars for all businesses.
  • Manage Workday Safety Certifications process.
  • Manage Workday Learning process for the safety group and ensure all new hires are assigned safety orientation modules.
  • Provide support to the businesses and serve as the safety contact for safety pre-qualification efforts (ISN, Avetta, other).
  • Send out regular learning and safety communications as directed.
  • Maintain the safety dashboard in Power BI.
  • Provide administrative support for Workers Compensation. Serve as the primary contact with Travelers for basic reporting and maintenance (1st reports, follow-up).
  • Maintain safety and health standards and guidelines on SharePoint.
  • Administer safety rewards program.
  • Must project a professional presence, have a welcoming disposition, and demonstrated communication skills.
  • May be asked to participate in preparing or delivering Learning and Development related presentations/training.
  • Must be aware of privacy concerns, the handling of personally identifiable information, and the importance of keeping information confidential.
  • Handle stress and job demands.
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Plan meeting logistics, order catering, and set up space for meetings and trainings.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of, and exposure to, Human Resource information systems; Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other applications including Microsoft Teams and Power BI as needed. Familiarity with Workday HRIS a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills and adept at working with internet search engines.
  • Experience drafting written communication for internal and external audiences desired.
  • High level of attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Education, Safety or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of related human resource or executive administrative experience.
