The Payroll Processor II performs the full cycle of payroll processing for the Loews Hotels & Co. assigned properties in accordance with company policies. This position will demonstrate the ability to take on additional and more complex payrolls, complete full reporting and provide training to peers. The Payroll Processor II reports to the Payroll Manager. 

Job Specific

  • Process full cycle for weekly, biweekly and off-cycle payrolls for union and non-union Team Members using the payroll and time & attendance software.
  • Prepares computer input forms, enters payroll data, or computes wages and deductions, and posts to electronic payroll records.
  • Records changes affecting net wages, including exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
  • Prepares payroll reports to be distributed to Senior HR and Finance Management teams.
  • Provides phone/email support to employees regarding inquiries and pay discrepancies.
  • Serve as knowledge expert of payroll processes and systems.
  • Assists Payroll Manager in completing complex tasks and research.
  • Assists Payroll Manager in the processes and procedures and control points as well as identifying process improvements and procedural changes.
  • Create cases and monitor progress for resolution via the payroll processing portal.
  • Assist with governmental reporting/compliance, tax research, and any other duties given by Payroll Manager and Director of Payroll
  • Records Positive Pay for all manual checks on various bank platforms.
  • Monitor payroll processing portal for Notice of Change and Direct Deposit Returns.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotels.
  • Required to attend all training sessions and meetings.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Outstanding mathematical, accounting, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Workday (helpful)
  • Ability to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain strong work relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment
  • Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll
  • Knowledge and understanding of garnishment laws and tax regulations
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Education:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a computerized accounting environment. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with payroll taxes at Federal, State, and Local levels.
