Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Employee Relations (ER) Partner to join our Employee Relations team in Herndon, VA or on a hybrid basis. This position requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in the field of employee relations and serves as a strategic business partner to all HR leads and business leaders throughout the Enterprise in support of our strategic workforce objectives to drive business results.  The ER team collectively supports the employee relations of 10,000 employees.

The ER Partner must have exceptional attention to detail, and is a strong collaborator, working with key stakeholders including legal, HR, employee, and managers to provide consultation on employee relations issues with regard to employment policy, procedure or practice. This includes addressing employee complaints, performance issues, and conducting employee investigations and making recommendations in alignment with all state/federal leave laws and in coordination with related company policies.   The successful candidate will be a strong written and verbal communicator who can influence and communicate at all levels of the organization.   The ER partner is a problem solver who can make data-informed decisions and recommendations. 

Key Responsibilities include:

•            Working independently on complex employee problems, issues and concerns to identify solutions that balance business needs and the employee experience

•            Interpreting internal/external business challenges, and identifying trends in order to recommend best practices to provide top tier support

•            Presenting recommendations to all levels of leadership, to include executives, with the ability to communicate complex concepts/positions, anticipating potential objections, and influencing others to adopt a different point of view, where applicable

•            May lead teams or projects with complex problems to solve and/or present on topics or train stakeholder groups

•            Consulting with HR business partners to help resolve complex problems using analytical thinking, tools, and judgment to identify innovative solutions

•            Recommending changes to keep the company policies and practices in compliance with local, state and federal employment law; enforce legal and regulatory requirements impartially

•            Conducting interactive process with employees ensuring compliance and consistency in the execution and administration of employment actions.

•            Applying knowledge of Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and reasonable accommodation process to review and make determinations on ADA accommodation process

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field

  • Minimum of 7 years’ related experience, 3 of which should be conducting internal investigations

  • Extensive functional knowledge of federal, state and local EEO statutes, regulations and guidelines, to include American with Disabilities Act (ADA)

  • Demonstrated experience interacting with employees and leaders at all levels, having influence, and driving change

  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting information to small and large groups

  • Experience successfully managing multiple assignments and projects while effectively balancing schedules and ad hoc requests

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (word, excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

•            Government contractor experience

•            Experience with EthicsPoint

•            Workday System Experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
