Reporting directly into the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Executive Director of Benefits leads the organization in defining, continually shaping, and leading the execution of the Company's strategy and approach to Health and Welfare, 401k and ancillary Benefits, in a way that fuels the company’s transformation—maturing business processes and driving business outcomes.

The ED will leverage both extensive subject matter expertise as well as the knowledge of ManTech’s employee-focused culture, to put into place programs that reiterate and perpetuate our Employee Value Proposition to attract and retain the best talent, worldwide.  The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish credible relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization. 

He or she is a thought leader, motivated by the opportunity to innovate and drive change and excels at putting strategy into place by driving the team to perform in strategic alignment, often in a rapid fashion to keep up with an evolving business.  Not afraid to roll up his or her own sleeves, the successful candidate is one that possesses the energy, enthusiasm and passion for this work and can demonstrate this through effective leadership, hands-on collaboration, continuous process improvement, and with the willingness to jump in to drive towards the design of differentiated talent solutions that make ManTech a Great Place to Work for our employees.    This position is located at the ManTech Corporate office in Herndon, VA (a casual dress office) with the ability to work remotely part of the time, when work can be effectively accomplished doing so. 

Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the strategy, designing and executing the company’s Health & Welfare, 401k and ancillary benefits programs, holistically, and in line with our strategic plan workforce objectives

  • Ensuring effective change management in the rollout and execution of any strategy or initiative while enabling the business with agile, flexible business operations

  • Directing studies and analyses and engaging resources such as external consultants, as needed, to develop and refine programs

  • Developing strategies to drive employee awareness and understanding of all benefit programs to expedite adoption and drive attributed value

  • Owning the Benefits Policy creation and modification

  • Providing support and consultation across the business on complex issues, supporting staff, managers and executives in all related areas of benefits

  • Serving as SME in area Benefits to the HR Function offering consultation to build functional capability and knowledge in these areas

  • Establishing and maintaining highly effective relationships with our benefits vendors to solution and drive results

  • Determining performance measures that indicate progress against strategic goals, implementing, measuring and driving to achieve results

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 10 years of experience in Benefits

  • Demonstrated track record of crafting and implementing total rewards strategies that align with workforce objectives and result in greater candidate attraction and employee retention

  • Experience leading a high performing team of benefits professionals

  • Proven success in handling multiple priorities and navigating in a matrixed environment through collaboration and influence

  • Effective experience delivering executive-level briefings and communications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field

  • Experience with Workday HR Information System (HRIS)

  • Experience with Mercer’s 365+ Platform

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)

  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions

  • Experience with Service Contract Act (SCA)

  • Experience in the government services industry with knowledge of including but not limited to DCAA, OFCCP, Defense Base Act, Davis-Bacon and Related Acts, CARES Act, and other relevant regulations

Physical Requirements:

  • Position is based in Herndon, VA

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
