We are seeking a talented individual to join our HR Digital Transformation team at Mercer. This role will be based in Bangalore/Noida/GGN/Pune/Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Associate – Workday Practice

- Plan and prioritize tasks for self while leading Workday implementation projects by contributing to all stages of the delivery lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex Workday implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.
- Oversee the team's workload, provide mentorship, conduct quality reviews throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Communicate project status and obstacles with the larger project team including Engagement Manager (EM), Project Manager (PM), and client to ensure timely project delivery.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, taking the lead on activities across all initiatives.
- Take full responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects.
- Provide leadership and work with key stakeholders with the necessary information and channels to make informed, timely decisions.
We will count on you to:
- Independently conduct various workshop sessions (e.g., Deployment Readiness, Foundation Alignment / Discovery, Customer Confirmation Sessions), addressing customer queries and resolving issues promptly.
- Hands-On – Design, Configure, Customize & maintain to meet client needs
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team, ensuring coordination and timely delivery of project milestones with consultants across different functional areas.
- Identify scope, gaps & get them addressed; Recognize and engage the right stakeholders
- Gather and document client requirements, assess project complexity, estimate effort, prioritize capacity, and define development and analysis timelines.
- Support pre-sales activities, estimation, client presentations, SOW, Sales-to-Service transitions
- Identify test scenarios, develop test scripts, and provide support for Workday feature releases, Security, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & support E2E testing coordinating across all modules
- Demonstrate flexibility to work across different time zones (US, Canada and Europe)
- Drive operational excellence and lead transformational projects with measurable, impactful results.
- Take responsibility for initiatives, ensuring results are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
What you need to have:
- Should be Workday Certified in any of these – HCM, Adv. Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Talent & Performance
- Total 10+years of experience (years in WD)
- BE /B.Tech /MCA /BSc.Extensive experience working with clients as a “Consultant” to drive implementation projects
- Working with cross-functional teams spread across different delivery centers, with a strong understanding of how different Workday modules interact and integrate.
- Up to date on Workday new releases & product roadmap to be able to provide a better solution & enhance End User experience.
- Ability to recommend and implement industry- or country-specific Workday best practices during implementation.
- Active participation in internal initiatives, supporting or leading Workday product teams, and contributing to the development of intellectual property solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Review project health status for projects being led/delivered by different leads on the Deployment team responsible for
- Lead/Management – Manage workload for the Deployment team, assist team in all the phases of delivery lifecycle, collate and report status/impediments with the greater project team
- Responsible for coordination with Functional Directors, EM/PM, Clients, onsite leads and other functional stream leads as well for Project Planning & Delivery
- Participate in new talent recruitment and mentor junior team members on technical as well as non-technical/softer competencies
- Design Workday solution, prepare design & propose the Workday solution; handover to junior consultants for solution building
- Lead DA reviews
- Define the scope of the project in collaboration with required stakeholders, and manage the project/process to agreed plan
- Task estimation, prioritization, risk identification and tracking to closure within defined project timelines/plan
- Manage team development by ensuring that project tasks are in line with plan. Monthly connects with all team members using 1:1 meetings covering issues, R&R, skill matrix, track IDP progress
- Work with no supervision, provide constant feedback on project status and deadlines to all relevant stakeholders
- Manage requirements scope and architect the solution in discussion with various stakeholders. Escalate any issues as appropriate.
- Research and analyze existing business processes and evaluate alternative methods to recommend the most efficient and cost-effective solution for system design.
- Act as project lead and may direct the work of other developers/analysts, testers.
- Support UAT activities by providing input to test cases recommended for configuration changes
- Flexible working in different shifts/locations including on-call support
- Prepare retention strategies and control attrition in the team
- Work with recruitment teams to shortlist, interview and select staff with appropriate skills for project activities
- Takes timely, appropriate actions that address stakeholder needs/expectations
- Identify and manage issue resolution including escalation as needed
- Develop & manage communication plans with stakeholders aimed at improved collaboration
