Mears Group are now looking to recruit a Senior Payroll Supervisor

Permanent position offering a Salary up to £40,000 + great benefits.

This is a Hybrid working position, located at our Gloucester Head office 2 days per week, 3 days home working per week

The Senior Payroll Supervisor will be reporting to Head of Payroll, as a senior member of this highly established team you will have responsibility for the completion of all weekly and monthly payrolls.

Emphasis will be placed on ensuring they are accurately processed in line with deadlines, this will involve reviewing payrolls prepared by the wider team, generating BACS payments and processing RTI submissions.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for the line management of more junior members of the Payroll Team.  

Customer service skills are high on the agenda with this Team so experience of providing a service to internal and external customers is paramount.

You will be a natural planner with the ability to work to tight deadlines in order to meet branch requirements.

We are looking for a Payroll professional with a proactive approach to resolving employee and branch problems and queries.

  • Key to this role is a great understanding of customer experience and service excellence,
  • you will have established experience within a Payroll position, Supervisory experience is not essential but you will have great skills in knowing how to get the best out of a Team whilst delivering an exemplary service.
  • We are keen to meet candidates who are committed and have ambition to succeed with experience in accountability, implementation and financial responsibility.
  • You will have excellent knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a confidential environment.
  • Confident to communicate at all levels with people from varying backgrounds.
  • Excellent IT Skills – Confident user of Microsoft packages, including Excel.
  • Flexibility with hours and peak periods of work is occasionally required, adapting according to the operational demands of the company.
  • Experience of Workday Payroll or Workday HR system.
