Job Description

A member of the Dotdash Meredith HR Leadership team, the successful candidate is a proven self-starting HR leader with an established competence in the HR Systems and Technology space with responsibility for people, process & technology. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, the successful candidate thinks strategically, acts tactically, and is a team player who possesses a strong ability to conceptualize, develop, drive, and in coordination with HRIS, manage the entire architecture for all HR systems and technology.  Drives results by aligning human resources workforce strategies and initiatives with business and company goals, initiatives and values.

Essential Job Functions

50% – Consult with Senior HR Leadership to define and be accountable for executing on company HR strategy using HR systems and technology. Be a trusted member of the HR leadership team and partner with HR Leads (Compensation, Talent Development, Policy, TA, etc.) and HRBPs to understand their business processes, operational needs, issues, and opportunities, and create solutions to scale business operations and ensure compliance. Partner with CHRO, people analytics, and HR business leaders to define and supply appropriate data metrics and analytics to drive employee related business decisions. Lead and/or have oversight for the HR Operations team.

20% – Ensure HR Systems and technology drives full cycle talent strategy outcomes from attraction to retention. Identify and lead continuous improvement efforts related to HR systems and technology functionality and capability.  Evaluate and elevate quality, efficiency, performance and scalability of HR systems, processes, and analytics.  Oversee the Workday HRIS Systems and Processes (Talent Mgt, Compensation, Learning, Benefits, and Talent Acquisition technology strategies, objectives and roadmap). Identify and develop automation to address manual activities.

15% – Oversee all standard integrations and implement and lead configuration changes and testing strategies to support existing or new functionality in Workday.  Partner well with departments who run employee facing processes in Workday such as Time and Attendance. Lead all audit activities, including SOC and Internal Audit walkthroughs.

15% – Understand and evaluate the evolving marketplace in the HR systems space so the most contemporary thinking and targeted innovations are brought to bear in the evolution of DDM’s talent strategy. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance employee and end-user experience, as well as improve the capabilities and usability of all existing HR systems.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Operations, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience: Ten+ years’ relevant experience in the HR systems, Workday required, and technology field with a track record of leading and innovating HR systems and technology initiatives.  

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead with innovation, tied to business outcomes and is equally comfortable in technology and client-focused environments.
  • Demonstrated communication and change management skills, including the ability to effectively translate technical jargon/concepts for a lay audience, and to inform, convince, influence, and educate executives, cross-functional stakeholders and team members effectively and proactively.
  • Significant experience with Workday implementation of business processes and vendor integrations.
  • Proactively identify and/or correct errors in business processes, data, or configuration and resolve the impacts of any changes to processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and execution skills, including a desire to roll up sleeves to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Works with Reporting & Analytics team to develop and prepare regular operational reports/metrics, dashboards, analytics and insights.
  • Knowledge of Payroll Operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proven management abilities in managing a team and projects.

Pay Range

Salary: $150,000 – $190,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees.
