How will you make an impact?

We are looking for an ambitious Talent Acquisition intern to join the Human Resource team. You will gain hands-on experience and exposure to various talent acquisition areas including recruiting, new hire onboarding, supporting various recruiting projects and programs, such as campus and internship projects and HRIS.

This internship will provide you with an opportunity to gain an understanding of MGIC’s business objectives by helping homebuyer achieve homeownership sooner.

This is a year-round internship and offered until graduation and require a minimum of 20 hours/week during the school year and full-time during the summer/break.This is accomplished by:

  • Partnering with Talent Acquisition Partners in the lifecycle of the recruiting process activities such as the candidate and hiring manager experience through, but not limited to, the following:requisition management, job postings, interview scheduling (includes WebEx coordination, debriefs, etc.) and maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate stages with the applicant tracking system.
  • Develop trust and maintain positive relationships with candidates and hiring managers by providing a high level of customer service, administrative support, and coordination throughout the recruiting process.
  • Demonstrate your ability to work with the team in improving HR processes or implementing new ideas, while providing great service to our employees.
  • Possible projects could include assisting in recruitment branding, social media to promote job openings and other recruiting platforms.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business & Management, Human Resources, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Sophomore or Junior standing
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with employees and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work with the team to achieve the HR departmental goals
  • Excellent organizational skills, exceptional follow-up skills and impeccable attention to detail
  • High degree of self-motivation, passion, and a drive to learn.
  • Onsite / Hybrid work environment based in our Headquarters in Downtown Milwaukee, WI.

What you can learn on the job:

  • Increase knowledge and gain valuable experience within the HR and Mortgage industry
  • Learn the steps and processes for full life cycle recruitment and the hiring process.
  • Work closely with the talent team in ensuring that all candidates receive a positive experience through timely communication and efficient interview scheduling
  • Using Workday to assist in recruiting.

What does success look like?

  • First 30 days:
    • Learn about MGIC’s business and get to know your HR Team.
    • Understand MGIC Philosophy of recruitment.
  • First 6 months:
    • Become familiar with our current recruitment process.
    • Expand your knowledge of Workday.
  • First year:
    • Be a go to point of contact for recruitment and provide support of TA process.
    • Contribute ideas on TA processes and documentation to support the overall TA team.
