Payroll Processing

  • Primarily responsible for the processing of US monthly incentives, annual bonuses, and stock payrolls
  • Backup processor for the US bi-weekly regular payroll
  • Manage biweekly timecard submission and approval process
  • Pre and Post payroll flux analysis, variance reporting on a biweekly and monthly basis
  • Create SOPs, job aids, and walk-through videos for our HR support team, management, and employees
  • Create/Maintain State Tax Jurisdictions, and provide guidance for compliance to various Federal, State, and Local payroll legislations, including tax withholding, garnishments, and key annual audits
  • Responsible for multi-state tax registration and account closures
  • Work closely with internal staff and vendors to ensure HR, Benefits, and Payroll changes are processed, accurate funding occurs for all accounts, tax remittance, general ledger balancing, month-end close, and Management Reporting is completed on time
  • Escalate urgent and critical requests to the appropriate Manager or System Department Lead
  • Monitor and resolve tickets to end user satisfaction within appropriate SLAs

Audit and Data Integrity

  • Audit data integrity between Workday HRIS and our tax filing vendor systems to ensure systems are in sync on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Update payroll system with state unemployment tax rates and ensure that the rates have been shared with our Unemployment Tax and Tax Filing Shared Services vendors
  • Audit bi-weekly cycles before payrolls are released for processing
  • Provide comprehensive reporting for analysis, audit, and inter-departmental support

Process Improvement

  • Identify and recommend areas within business processes that can be improved via systems enhancements and automation
  • Partner with Internal and External Business Partners to test new functional system enhancements, system updates, and integrations

Year End Scope of Work

  • Partner with Internal and External Business Partners on quarterly and year-end checklists to prepare for year-end
  • Resolve W-2 errors and variances each month-end
  • Reconcile annual payroll reporting and complete accurate W-2s each year-end

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in payroll
  • Experience with multi-state Payrolls with both exempt and non-exempt employees
  • CPP a plus
  • Workday Payroll Certified is a plus
  • Workday HRIS system experience preferred
  • International Payroll processing preferred
  • Payroll Stock processing experience, RSU’s, NQ, ESPP
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel including but not limited to VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, flexible, upbeat demeanor, and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment and work with a sense of urgency
  • A strong sense of time management required
  • Strong system and data flow knowledge. Ability to learn and adapt to new process flows and software technologies
  • Team-oriented approach – participate as an effective team member as well as work cross-functionally with other organization
