Our European Finance Team is looking for maternity cover for its London based UK Finance function and is seeking an Accounting Specialist with strong financial reporting and analytical skills. This individual will be responsible for fulfilling the financial reporting, taxation and regulatory reporting requirements for a number of NASDAQ legal entities based both in the UK and across Europe within its Corporate Solutions business.

Our European Finance Team is looking for a London based Accounting Specialist with strong financial reporting and analytical skills to cover a 1 year Maternity leave. This individual will be responsible for fulfilling the financial reporting, taxation and regulatory reporting requirements for a number of NASDAQ legal entities based both in the UK and across Europe within its Corporate Solutions business.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for multiple legal entities month end close process. This includes preparing and approving journal entries, intercompany and other balance sheet reconciliation and preparation of management accounts.
  • Part of the month end processes will include liaising with different departments including tax, treasury, business control, accounting operations and other stake holders within financial control, providing guidance where necessary.
  • Preparation of monthly analytical reviews comparing actual performance to forecasts and budgetary targets. Coordinating with business managers to determine and analyse key performance drivers behind the financial results of the various Corporate Solution companies.
  • Presentation of monthly reporting and analytics to senior management and key stakeholders of the Corporate Solutions business.
  • Supporting the Statutory Reporting Team with the external audit process. Preparation of audit support schedules and analytics as well as preparing responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing and managing cost plus entities, approval of intercompany invoicing , calculation of internal revenue and ensuring all intercompany balances are cash settled and all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Preparation of Corporate Tax returns and VAT returns as well as responding to all HMRC inquiries.
  • Preparation of quarterly tax provisions including calculation of deferred tax and analysis of any group reliefs.
  • Analysis of staff expenditure and preparation of annual PSA returns to HMRC.
  • Preparing and approving monthly balance sheet reconciliations under USGAAP and local GAAP.
  • Responsible for quarterly and annual additional disclosures and supporting schedules for 10Q and 10K reporting.
  • Analysing operating cash flow requirements to ensure all UK entities are sufficiently funded.
  • Assisting business managers and stakeholders regarding key commercial decisions, providing financial analysis for various scenarios under consideration.
  • Responding to ad-hoc supplier queries and working with various stakeholders within the business to ensure transactions are correctly recorded in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining process narratives for external reporting purposes.
  • Key member of ad-hoc finance projects.

We expect you to

  • Be able to manage multiple tasks and within tight deadlines.
  • Be familiar with both USGAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Have in depth knowledge of UK Tax
  • Have the ability to communicate with all levels of management and stakeholders across the global organisation.
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be able to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Have intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Be a qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with both audit and corporate experience with at least 3 years post qualified experience.
  • Demonstrate good analytical techniques.

It would be great if you have

  • Knowledge of Workday Accounting System would be beneficial.
  • Any experience of Hyperion consolidation tool would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working within a multinational organisation would also be beneficial.
