The New York Times is looking for an experienced HR People Data Analyst to join our amazing HR team. This role will work closely with HR Business Partners and functional team members, and provide expertise in people data analytics that generate data-driven insights across multiple departments of the organization and on different HR programs for stakeholders. This role will be centered around principles of defining for scalability and flexibility while leveraging strong data governance and data quality practices.
In this role, you will craft actionable insights based on the data gathered and assessed. You will help to systematize and scale existing metric catalogs and develop potential metrics we could activate for forward looking, predictive analytics relative to supporting the organizational goals to attract, engage, retain, and develop talent.
This role will report to the Chief of Staff to the Chief of Human Resources and will be based in the New York office headquarters on a hybrid (in-office 3 days a week/remote 2 days) schedule.
Job Responsibilities:

Evaluate critical data factors such as the what, why, audience, context and connections associated with the data before executing

Respectfully challenge the pursuit of data if there is no clear goalÂ

Execute with integrity in a timely fashion to deliver polished and easily-digestible analysis and insights for cyclical programs as well as new projects and ad hoc requests

Package presentations for easy digestion as well as present information in a way that holds an audience’s attention and fosters focused discussions that generate traction and ultimately impact on relevant goals

Help data consumers understand how to discuss the information, and how the information can be leveraged to create action plans

Tailor insights into multiple areas of our organization on the topics such as hiring, development, and retention of talent

To promote a data-driven culture, you will also be vested in deeply understanding the processes that allow workforce data capture to stakeholders to build and sustain high-level data quality of our talent-related information
Basic Qualifications:
-
5+ years of relevant professional experience in an analytical role
-
Experience working in an human resources department
-
Proficient with Workday HCM (Workday HCM Certification preferred) or a similar SAS system
-
Hands-on experience with Workday Report Writer or similar technology including the ability to merge data from disparate sources to create holistic data charts, graphs, dashboards, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:Â

Bachelor’s degree in Applied Statistics/Analytics or other quantitative fields of study preferred

Exposure to technologies such as Tableau, Visier, SPSS, Workday PRISM, JIRA, OfficeConnect preferred

Ability to manage concurrent assignments

Outcome driven collaborator who is very-detail oriented

Ability to read an audience in real-time and adjust as necessary to make sure the most important points are landed

Knowledge of multivariate statistical methods such as GLM, longitudinal analysis, classification, dimension reduction, clustering, and hierarchical linear modeling among others

Ability to draft actionable insights and executive-level summaries and presentations with little or no oversight
The annual base pay range for this role is between $105,000.00 and $140,000.00.
