Job Description :

Location: New York NY, Nashville TN, or remote

Assignment duration: about 6-12 months 

News Corp seeks a Compensation Consultant Analyst to support a busy HQ compensation team with annual and ad hoc projects:

  • Annually recurring projects

    • evaluate and market price new and existing roles 

      • Primary focus on technology, finance, legal and HR

    • support the year-end planning process 

    • review employee statements, Workday reports, and payrolls to ensure accuracy

    • Compensation survey participation

  • Ad hoc projects

    • Lead Marketpay re-configuration to transition into one global Workday tenant

    • Support transition to new global job architecture in MarketPay

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Expert knowledge of market pricings and compensation benchmarking practices

  • Extensive experience with Payscale MarketPay 

  • Thorough understanding of job architecture best practices, and experience at supporting changes in job architecture

  • Skilled at analytics and reporting required to execute the year-end compensation planning process

  • Expert spreadsheet skills are required

  • Highly motivated, eager problem-solver

  • Excellent attention to detail  

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Compensation team in providing compensation support to HR Business Partners and business leaders for a fast-growing organization

  • Develops strong partnerships, providing consultation and support to assigned departments as well as HR business partners

  • Coordinates year-end compensation processes such as salary changes and bonuses

  • Completes ad-hoc compensation requests from HR and business leaders

  • Be accountable for accuracy and integrity of all compensation reporting

  • Researches and resolves compensation issues based on employee inquiries

  • Partners with HR Operations and Payroll on any compensation data upload or reporting processes

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a compensation role at a large company or at a consulting company

  • Public company experience preferred  

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to use independent judgment for decisions that may not be straightforward

  • Knowledge of compensation principals, programs, practices

  • Strong technical knowledge of Excel required including development of spreadsheets with formulas, functions, pivot tables, lookups

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once

  • Ability to handle sensitive HR information with high degree of confidentiality and discretion

  • Must be detail oriented with strong analytical skills and be able to present analytical data in an easily understandable format

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
