*Position is a home-based/remote position with daily hours flexibility and limited onsite/travel requirements*
Primary Function: This position provides technical expertise for the development, maintenance, and documentation of reporting and associated applications within our data environment. As a team player, you will oversee department analysts and assist in collecting, analyzing, and presenting report results to our internal customers.
Responsibilities: (1) Programs against all databases across multiple environments for various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle. (2) Collaborates with enterprise data warehouse, data governance, and business teams on any issues relating to data quality, architecture or structure of data repositories impacting analytics. (3) Creates appropriate data solutions and data analysis for the measurement of processes and outcomes. (4) Develops and leverages tools to promote and support NCC stakeholders’ secure data access, sharing, and consumption. (5) Develops and maintains appropriate status and documentation on projects and work products. (6) Ensure the integration of systems through the database structure and support ERP system reporting and data movement through the College (7) Develops and supports complex reporting and analytics requirements. (8) Supervise, train, assist, coach, and mentor a team of business analysts (9) Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Organizational Relationships: Position reports to the Director, Enterprise Systems. Serves as a subject matter expert to the College community.
Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) Responsibilities have been accomplished within a specified period; (2) Responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives; (3) Effective cooperative relationships exist with staff, faculty, students, and other members of the College community.
Qualifications: (1) Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or related field from a regionally accredited institution is preferred or an Associate degree with 3-5 years of related experience; or equivalent, relevant work experience or demonstrated technical skills. (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Required: (a) Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL queries using SQL Developer or other SQL database management tools (b) Solid analysis, design, programming, and test plan development skills. (c) Knowledge of secure data transfer and account management practices. (d) Knowledge and experience with cloud-based and on-premises system connections and integrations; Preferred: (a) Working knowledge of development tools and programming languages (Python and C# preferred) and standard algorithms. Familiarity with web service technologies (REST, SOAP), data reporting and analytic tools, and ETL (extract-transform-load). (b) Knowledge of ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning) especially within a higher-education environment (c) Understanding and knowledge in data analytics and reporting (SSRS, Power BI, etc.) (d) Experience with SAAS (software as a service) cloud-based tenant environments. Prior experience with Workday is highly desirable. (e) Management experience of small teams a plus. (f) Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts both orally and in writing.
