Responsibilities

The Corporate Accounting Department at Oaktree is seeking a Manager with a focus on corporate accounting operations.

Responsibilities include:
•    Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including daily cash reporting and bank reconciliation. 
•    Work closely with Treasury Department for newly created bank accounts and associated accounting processes.
•    Coordinate with Fund Accounting and Expense & Allocation Management Departments to ensure smooth execution of fund billing, fund refund, and fund liquidation processes.
•    Manage the offshore accounting team, provide technical direction for daily accounting activities, and ensure timely and accurate maintenance of accounting records.
•    Manage the accounting for compensation and benefits, including reconciliation and analysis of payroll, equity compensation, deferred compensation, profit-sharing arrangements, and ad hoc complex executive arrangements.
•    Oversee the quarter-end close process, including posting of accruals, account reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, and preparation of management reports.
•    Review financial calculations and account analyses; create robust supporting schedules for assigned accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis.
•    Participate in the implementation of new ERP system, working with other departments to perform proper testing, designing, and automating processes to maximize new system functionalities.
•    Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
•    Coordinate with internal and external auditors in annual audits and complete requests related to the role’s subject matter expertise.
•    Perform certain key internal control processes.

Qualifications

•    Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting, public accounting experience preferred.
•    Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting, operations, account analysis, and management reporting.
•    Excellent understanding of business operations and linkage to accounting in order to initiate and lead process improvements and documentation of standard operating procedures.
•    Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
•    Specific experience with BPC and Workday systems a plus.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (and/or equivalent experience). CPA or MBA preferred.

Base Salary Range

$115,000 – $140,000

In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement.  The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
