Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities

As a valued member of the innovative and collaborative OSV technology team, the Senior DevOps Engineer will:

  • Work in a dedicated team of DevOps engineers and ensure 24×7 availability of OSV production application systems and provide senior guidance to other team members
  • Partner with Research & Development to be the operations advocate by understanding the development roadmap, closely collaborating and planning operations updates to support new products and enhancements and anticipating issues based on usage and behavior of the systems
  • Perform and manage the configuration, administration and support all  deployment environments including: internal, public cloud, and other providers
  • Develop, extend and maintain software build and deployment automation across multiple instances for all applications  
  • Build and maintain redundant systems and procedures for high availability and disaster recovery
  • Implement and maintain automated monitoring and alerting for all web applications and infrastructure and monitor all systems to ensure critical system availbiliy, drive issues to resolution and enage other technology groups in problem solving to resolution
  • Plan for disaster recovery and capacity growth and implement those plans on schedule
  • Administer, tune and monitor MS SQL Server instances

Supervisory Responsibility

This role will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience performing system and application engineering functions, supporting, troubleshooting, and performance engineering of custom web applications in a 24×7 production environment
  • 5 plus years of experience with applications in the Microsoft server stack – IIS, SQL Server, and .NET Framework
  • 3 plus years of experience with IIS management, troubleshooting and performance monitoring
  • 3 plus years of experience with relational database engines – including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, or MySQL
  • Experience working in an Agile framework
  • Experience with source control and automated build tools and frameworks, such as GIT, VSTS, Azure DevOps
  • Experience with application monitoring, metrics and reporting
  • Experience with industry standard case management and systems, such as Zendesk, Remedy, Salesforce Service Cloud
  • Preferred experience in Salesforce application deployment, configuration, monitoring in force.com
  • Demonstrated technical competency in 3 or more of the following areas
    • Experience with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure public clouds
    • Experience with Visual Studio Team Services
    • Experience with Octopus Deploy or similar
    • Web application Monitoring and Metrics
    • Application load balancing techniques both hardware and software
    • Automation and PowerShell scripting
    • Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL database engines
