Job Description Summary:

PayPal Employee Technology and Experience office supports our employees through the technologies that power them, from Legal to HR, Corporate Communications and more. As a Manager, ETX you will have responsibility for a team of ETX Technical Product engineers supporting our HR Technology portfolio, including a roadmap of complex, multi-disciplinary projects across multiple HR applications, including Workday.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic leader with a Product Engineering background to take on the role. This person will partner with our Product Management and HR business teams to help execute on a vision for world-class HR Technology solutions and experience. They will also work closely with our Project management, Stakeholders, Architects and Cross functional engineering teams to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of product solutions. This position is for someone with a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit, who enjoys a dynamic and growing work environment, and enjoys working with people to provide world-class business solutions.

Job Description:

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and day to day management to a team of Technical Product Engineers working across our HR applications, including Workday, Kronos, ServiceNow, Cornerstone Learning and others.
  • Communicate organizational objectives; inspire and motivate the extended team to achieve results.
  • Sustain an environment that ensures employees realize their highest potential.
  • Leads a global team to continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
  • Communicate with executive staff, business, and product management partners.
  • Evaluates and defines Human Resource technology solutions to meet business needs; designs integrated technology enabled business processes
  • Work with global partners to set a strategy and a vision consistent with PayPal corporate priorities for our HR Technology solutions, while identify opportunities to improve HR processes through technology.
  • Manages development, testing, change control, documentation and maintenance activities ensuring compliance with company standards
  • Develop and track high level KPI’s and goals.
  • Manage milestones and deliverables based on technology during projects/enhancement/fixes.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation with all stakeholders including sponsors, technologists, and business customers (HR, PMO, Architecture, Vendors, etc.…).
  • Vendor contract negotiations and vendor relationship management.
  • Budget management.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems logically and systematically.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels including executive management.
  • Ability to work in Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery models.
  • Highly flexible, ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines to execute well in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience managing a team of global product engineers both functional and technical including quality resources.
  • Expert knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC) and SaaS/COTS implementation including proven experience in implementing HR software applications.
  • 8+ years’ experience in large scale technical product development, project management, vendor management, contract management and budget management.
  • Hands on experience in leading global HCM cloud implementations.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR lines of business such as compensation, rewards, learning, recruiting, Operations, Timekeeping and Absence etc.… required. 
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Workday, Kronos, and Servicenow a strong plus.
  • Experience working in Agile, hybrid delivery models and scrum training is a plus
  • BS degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Management Information Systems or Computer Science.
