The Sr Associate – US Payroll, Tax & Compliance is responsible for accurate tax withholding, processing and reporting associated with US payroll, including system updates, quarterly reporting, adjustments, Workday data maintenance and agency communications/relationships. Manage the year-end W2 process and other tax-related projects associated with US Payroll Operations as required. Primary point of contact and collaboration with US Tax (Federal and State) team for audit defense and reporting.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure tax withholding during the Payroll run process are invoiced accurately by ADP; validate through ADPR Report query for accuracy and correct funding

Ensure that all any new localities are set up in ADP EV5 Payroll system

Review and validate Quarterly Tax Reporting for Federal, State, Local Income and Unemployment tax reporting

Process adjustments for current and prior quarters

Manage the annual year-end tax and W2 process for payroll

Process Prior Year W-2Cs

Validate Year End Tax Reporting

Correct payroll tax issues resulting from changes in personal data

Coordinate with HR Generalists and managers to ensure accurate employee information in Workday and ADP EV5

Work with State Tax team and ADP to ensure that Agency notices from jurisdictions are addressed, including work with state agencies to clear and address various filing issues and problems

Coordinate with Equifax, Unemployment vendor, to ensure that Unemployment rates are entered and reflected in ADP

Address all state unemployment insurance and state income tax credit issues to ensure accurate colleague data on W-2s

Audit payroll database for accurate tax data for new hires, rehires and employees who transfer between states

Run address change report to capture any local jurisdiction changes and make any necessary corrections

Liaison with HR Service Center, IBM, Payroll Tax and assist with the processing of adjustments for current and prior quarter

Research inquiries; participate in projects as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-
5+ years’ experience in payroll, tax, accounting, human resources
-
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Human Resources, OR related field required with 3 years relevant experience OR master’s degree with 1-year relevant experience, OR associate degree with 6 years relevant experience, OR 8 years relevant experience with high school diploma.

Ability to research, troubleshoot system errors and other complex issues to bring issues to resolution

Intermediate Excel skills

Knowledge of payroll labor laws and tax laws

Strong critical thinking, problem analysis and resolution skills

Data and database analysis

Must be customer service oriented and able to communicate effectively with all personnel levels

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Workday, ADP, or other common HCM, payroll and time/attendance systems preferred

Certified Payroll Professional, or similar professional designation preferred

Other Job Details:

Must be able to work in Pfizer Tampa office 2-3 days per week, or as needed by the business

May need to work non-standard hours depending on projects / payroll cycles assigned and payroll processing schedule.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $65,400.00 to $109,000.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
