Reporting to the SVP, Talent & Culture, the Senior Director, Compensation will lead the design, implementation and maintenance of organizational compensation plans and programs based on competitive practices, following the PGA TOUR’s strategy and principles. This role will partner with the broader Talent & Culture team, the CAO and COO, internal Business Partners, Finance as well as with colleagues across the TOUR to ensure effective and optimized compensation administration across the company. This position manages a team of 2-3 compensation professionals.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or other quantitative area of concentration; Master’s degree in related field desirable
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in compensation or other discipline relevant to above accountabilities
  • CCP, CEP designations desirable
  • Ability to comprehend complex regulations and program provisions
  • Strong, demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent attention to detail and quality orientation
  • Demonstrated technical skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Workday and Tableau experience preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple complex demands and shifting priorities


  • Oversee Executive Compensation and prepare materials for PGA TOUR MDCC/Board meetings as directed by CAO
  • Communicate effectively with critical executive compensation support teams including relevant internal business units
  • Perform advanced financial analyses and modeling of existing and proposed programs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and clients to enable sound compensation decisions at point of new hire, transfer, promotion, and annual focal merit review cycle
  • Align with Talent & Culture team and business partners to develop strategies focusing on how best to attract, engage and retain top talent with a focus on career paths and market
  • Work with business partners to ensure the right balance of fixed and variable compensation
  • Oversee and administer the Annual Compensation Review process for pay increases and bonus payouts with team
  • Ensure all salary ranges are reviewed and refreshed annually and new roles are market priced to slot into appropriate ranges; apply geographic differentials to recognize cost of labor variation by location
  • Monitor the competitiveness of current compensation through annual survey participation and continuous bench-marking of roles within the markets, including an annual review
  • Provide reporting and analysis to monitor for consistency, gap to market, and additional budget impacts
  • Support multiple executive compensation projects, including re-designing or creating new programs, drafting policies, documenting and revising processes, and complying with regulatory changes
  • Oversee Workday processes and maintenance for HCM, Compensation and Advanced Compensation
  • Develop financial audits for Full Time Equivalents (FTEs) and all governmental reporting with applicable business partners
  • Create compensation projections and summaries focusing on total cash compensation to support hiring and/or promoting executive talent
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking of executive and employee compensation programs through compensation consultants and participating in applicable surveys
  • Conduct complex analyses for management presentations
  • Research and analyze executive compensation and benefit trends
  • Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations and issues that impact executive compensation and benefits and preparing summaries for senior leadership
