To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join us as a Payroll Coordinator. The Payroll Coordinator plays a key role in our payroll department by optimizing payroll workflow, performing data updates, resolving payroll discrepancies, and assisting with verifications of employment and Unemployment Compensation forms. Utilizing your understanding of payroll best practices and previous Workday experience, the Payroll Coordinator will analyze and audit payroll data for accuracy and work with other payroll professionals to answer employee payroll queries. This role reports to the Payroll Supervisor.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with payroll workflow  including proofing, editing, and finalization of wages and deductions, reimbursements, and bonuses consistent with federal and state laws
  • Perform updates to payroll-related data
  • Analyze and audit payroll data for accuracy
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries
  • Assist with verifications of employment and Unemployment Compensation forms
  • File payroll related paperwork

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of payroll best practices and related regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and support staff
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Problem solving and resolution skills
  • Adherence to confidentiality policy
  • Previous experience with Workday Human Resources Information System

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to three years of experience in payroll or relevant field

Work Environment:

  • Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
