Human Resources Benefits Specialist

Status: Exempt (salaried)

Position Summary

The Human Resources Benefits Specialist focuses on general total rewards administration in the Total Rewards Center of Excellence supporting all functions and business units within Plug Power. The position would recommend, implement, administer, and maintain Benefits plans and processes. It would also contribute to the development and administration of Company policies and procedures for benefit plans to ensure equity for all employees, compliance with federal and state legal requirements and Company objectives and profitability.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with the day to day administration and communication of Plug’s health and welfare programs, 401(k) plans and other Total Rewards processes.
  • Manage leave of absence process and coordinate closely with payroll and external vendors to coordinate leaves
  • Manages and coordinates communication, wellness program activities, benefits fairs, and other Total Reward events.
  • Analyzes benefit costs, provides insight into expense trends and works with internal and external parties.
  • Works closely with Benefits vendors to implement enhancements, test changes, ensure compliance and reconcile issues.
  • Prepares analysis on various benefits programs and provides recommendations for program changes as needed.
  • Develop and conduct presentations for leaders in matters related to benefits projects
  • Participate in internal audits and assist with pulling documentation and information from the Workday HRIS system
  • Assists with benefits onboarding as needed
  • Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
 

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, business or other relevant field
  • A minimum of two (2) years working experience in human resources; preferred to have 1 years working within a Benefits function
  • Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong project management and process improvement abilities
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
  • Superior communication abilities; can seamlessly engage with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels

Pay Rate:

$52,250.00 – $78,375.00
