Human Resources Coordinator

Plug is building an end-to-end green hydrogen ecosystem, from production, storage, and delivery to energy generation, to help its customers meet their business goals and decarbonize the economy. In creating the first commercially viable market for hydrogen fuel cell technology, the company has deployed more than 50,000 fuel cell systems and over 165 fueling stations, more than anyone else in the world, and is the largest buyer of liquid hydrogen. With plans to build and operate a green hydrogen highway across North America and Europe, Plug is building a state-of-the-art Gigafactory to produce electrolyzers and fuel cells and multiple green hydrogen production plants that will yield 500 tons of liquid green hydrogen daily by 2025. Plug will deliver its green hydrogen solutions directly to its customers and through joint venture partners into multiple environments, including material handling, e-mobility, power generation, and industrial applications.

Position Summary

At Plug, we are paving the way for green hydrogen and changing the way energy is used across the globe, one molecule at a time! As a member of the HR Operations team, you will provide an important service to the organization by effectively managing the key administrative processes within the Human Resources department. You will lead a variety of day-to-day responsibilities including processing job changes, data entry and system maintenance in our Workday HRIS. You will also conduct various audits to ensure compliance and collaborate with other members of the broader HR team to provide support on various projects and initiatives. You will support the organization by providing customer service support to all employees on topics such as policy and procedure, benefits, and general HR inquiries via the organization’s Human Resources mailbox. Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process all relevant personnel transactions including but not limited to department transfers, promotions, title reclassifications, supervisory changes and more.
  • Assist in managing the Human Resources inbox, acting as the first point of contact for employee questions on topics such as policy and procedure, benefits, and other general HR inquiries.
  • Support in maintenance of labor posters and other compliance related initiatives.
  • Manage verifications of employment and distribution of department mail.
  • Assist in a variety of HR projects and audits to ensure HR excellence.
  • Ensure compliance-readiness for the department through timely and accurate processing of departmental transactions, thorough completion of all employee paperwork, security of confidential information and maintaining proper standards with record retention.
  • Evaluate work processes on an ongoing basis; seek efficiencies and make appropriate suggestions for process improvement
  • Assist as required on the administrative side of, personnel file maintenance, employee relations and other related projects.
  • Approach all work activities with a customer service focus being mindful of HR as a service department in support of the organization.
  • Develop strong and effective collaboration with broader HR team, internal clients and cross-functional departments.
  • Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree in human resources, business, or other relevant field; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • This role offers a hybrid/flexible work arrangement.
  • A minimum of one to three years of relevant work experience
  • Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience maintaining data and generating reports in an HR system is preferred.
