Job Summary:
PLNU is looking for a collaborative, organized team member who has a passion for helping others, strong communication skills, attention to detail, customer service focus and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment to support and grow within a diverse team in the Records Office. You will be a great teammate who both takes direction and shows initiative, can work independently, is a fast learner and assists teammates and completes. The role will assist students as they navigate the process of fulfilling their educational goals, and work with academic departments, schools and campus offices.
Salary:
Pay Range: $22.19 – $23.97 per hour

Job Description:

Experience and knowledge of higher education academic work. Understanding of or aptitude to quickly learn PLNU’s academic policies and procedures.

Self-motivated and can work independently to complete tasks in a timely manner with good time management, organizational skills, and independent judgment.

Proactive with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain clear communication with coworkers regarding progress and needs.

Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred.

Strong commitment to attention to details, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Able to take direction well and work with regular check-ins and supervision from department leaders or teammates to communicate progress and updates.

What You'll Be Doing:Â

Provide excellent customer service communicating clearly, respectfully, positively, and supportively while interacting with a diverse population of students and colleagues.

Assists with front office tasks and operations as directed.
-
Assists in advising students, faculty, and other administrative departments and in counseling potential transfer students.

Partners with academic departments in advising students on academic policies and requirements to ensure completion of degrees.

Carefully evaluating academic information and accurately entering data.
-
Understanding, explaining, and upholding academic policies, guidelines, processes, and requirements.

Thoroughly tracking, maintaining, and updating data via spreadsheets and other systems.

Planning work time to accurately, efficiently, and effectively complete tasks in a proactive and timely manner.

Assisting with Commencement ceremonies and celebrating our students’ achievements.
 Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
-
Proficiency in keyboarding, Google/Microsoft Suite, and Zoom. Workday experience is a plus.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and external contacts and to work cooperatively and diplomatically.

Ability to employ creative problem solving skills to complex situations.

Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks under deadline in an open and busy work environment.

Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement and agreement to live according to PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.Â

Physical Requirements:

Work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
