Proofpoint is looking to hire an exceptional Sr. Payroll Analyst located at the Sunnyvale, CA headquarters or Broomfield, CO location.  We are looking for a highly motivated professional with exceptional customer service skills to join us. The right candidate will become a member of our Finance team and must have the ability to identify, analyze and resolve process and system related problems, develop root cause analysis, and assist in implementing corrective actions. Must be flexible and organized to be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires attention to detail while also taking a broad perspective to identify solutions, the ability to assume responsibility and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment. The right candidate will provide accuracy in payroll processing and provide timely and accurate financial reporting with an emphasis on General Ledger / Payroll reconciliation. This position will impact a rapidly growing organization and offers career development opportunities for the right candidate.  This role will report to the Payroll Manager.

Your day-to-day tasks

 Responsibilities include but not limited to assisting in:

  • Serves as backup for Sr Payroll Specialists in US, Canada and Saipan payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now. (Bi-weekly and Semimonthly)
  • Assists with time and attendance processing and interface with payroll.
  • Will support employee related payroll questions and inquiries.
  • Handling and responding to tax agency inquiries
  • All payroll related tax filings are done timely and accurately, including the setup of new accounts with various federal and state and local agencies.
  • Preparing GL entries, account reconciliations and accruals
  • Provide analysis of payroll and related costs to identify trends and to ensure accurate reporting; and Ad-hoc projects, reporting and account reconciliations, and other assignments as needed to support Finance.
  • Maintaining and transmitting deduction data files for FSA, HSA & 401K plans
  • Quarter/Year-End reconciliation of payroll and stock transactions
  • Year-End audit of the Wage & Tax Registers for accurate W2 processing
  • Participate in special projects for annual 401k audit and True Up process

What you bring to the team

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree, with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 + years of experience processing payroll both domestically and in a global environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and prioritization skills
  • CPP a plus, but not required
  • ERP experience a plus
  • Extensive working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now for US and Canada
  • Working knowledge of Workday HCM and Workday Timekeeping

The hiring range for this position is typically:

68,925.00 – 91,900.00 USD

Actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
