The Talent Senior Manager reports to the Director of Talent, Development and Coaching and is responsible for developing and driving the talent strategy across the firm which seeks to deliver on our business needs, supports our people’s aspirations and potential and drives our inclusion agenda.  

They are a subject matter expert on our approach to talent, understanding the supply and demand model, succession planning scenarios and developing the tools and methodologies to drive the review and management of our talent landscape.  

The Talent Senior Manager will work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple teams in our People function and will line manage the daily activities of the manager in the team.   


  • Lead and manage the talent strategy and process for the firm, working collaboratively with business stakeholders, including LoS People Directors and teams within the wider People Function, to ensure consistent implementation to a high standard firmwide. Bring ideas and experience to help achieve greater firmwide alignment.

  • Responsibility to ensure that talent strategy supports the people strategy and works in tandem with wider development, performance and reward strategies.

  • Leverage external best practice and market insight on talent management and insights from business feedback to continually enhance the people experience. Ensure to evolve the talent strategy by staying internally and externally curious and bringing the right tools, technology and enablers

  • Work closely with the Strategic Workforce Planning teams to understand future skill needs and develop talent management strategies to address emerging thinking on the future workforce.

  • Partner with relevant teams across the People Function to ensure that the inputs and output interventions of Talent Review Groups are fit for purpose  

  • Lead and manage the annual firmwide Talent Review cycle including; project management, communications,leveraging technologies and providing data reporting e.g. Diversity and Inclusion targets.

  • Seek opportunities to simplify, embed and improve our talent approach, driving technology enabled processes in all we do. 

  • Represent the UK in our Global PwC Talent & Impact CoE network and collaborate with other PwC territories as required

  • Lead the design and delivery of clear, concise and engaging communications and training to guide business stakeholders and the people teams.

  • Co-collaborate with performance team and business stakeholders on approach to goals/personal development planning and coaching

Essential skills & experience

  • Experience working in talent is essential and ideally someone who has specific qualifications in Talent Development.

  • Hands-on Workday experience preferred but not essential. 

  • Passionate about the firm and particularly the people agenda.

  • An understanding of the impact of diversity and inclusion on business performance and how this can enhance the people experience. 

  • Commercial skills with the ability to turn these into proactive people strategies to drive the business.

  • Team leadership with delegation and coaching skills 

  • Strong relationship skills to work collaboratively and  influence key stakeholders and leadership 

  • Strong project management and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple demands and timelines. 

  • Data analytics skills with the ability to use data to provide insights to the business to drive and steer business decisions, this should include experience of data analytics tools and platforms. 

  • Resilient and capable of operating in an ambiguous, always changing and dynamic environment. 

  • Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to adapt working style to influence, negotiate and find resolutions.
