Job Description:

The Fixed Asset Accounting Manager leads a team of accountants responsible for performing general accounting responsibilities for all company fixed assets. This individual is responsible for the accuracy of the fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and associated supporting details including, but not limited to, fixed asset inventories. The Fixed Asset Accounting Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal departments and external vendors, as well as, developing the team of seniors and staff.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for managing the operations related to fixed asset accounting and financial reporting.

· Reviews journal entries and periodic reconciliations of related accounts and oversees the fixed asset accounting month-end process.

· Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal departments; including but not limited to Legal, Real Estate, Construction and Taxes.

· Advises other leaders within the organization on the accounting treatment to be applied for new and/or complex transactions such as the proper capitalization of assets and maintaining proper lease accounting treatment (ASC 842) (i.e. including, but not limited to, accounting for sale lease backs).

· Analyzes and maintains the fixed asset tax ledger. Reviews tax depreciation to ensure correct reporting.

· Reviews the calculation of capitalized salaries and interest. Refreshes and updates methodology as needed.

· Assists the fixed asset accountants with any reconciliation discrepancies.

· Performs a detailed review of significant year end accounting estimates such as CIP, Impairment and ARO. Refreshes and updates methodologies as needed.

· Responds to inquiries from the Director of Accounting, Vice President of Accounting, and leaders from other internal customers regarding financial results and special reporting requests about fixed asset items.

· Responds to any audit related questions that arise from the review of fixed asset.

· Works with functional leaders to identify significant capital projects that would be included in capital spend projections. Accumulate spend projections and reports to finance to facilitate the preparation on the monthly/quarterly cash needs projections.

· Reviews actual versus forecast capital spend and communicates deviations from plan.

· Prepares ad hoc requests related to capital spend.

· Ensures Workday reporting supports the capital spend process.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with a degree in accounting

· CPA preferred

· 3-5 years accounting experience; supervisory experience a plus

· Experience with Fixed Asset and General Accounting

· Strong understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP

· Advanced experience using MS Office Suite, particularly Excel

· Workday software experience preferred
