We are looking for a candidate who will understand ‘as-is’ end-to-end business/process cycles, possess the ability to act effectively at various levels of detail, work constructively with cross-functional teams and senior management, facilitate problem-solving and decision-making and be actively involved in multiple project activities, such as owning project plans and requirements elicitation.

Position Details

Purpose of Role

You will be part of a regional and global HRIS that supports International and Group HR teams by shaping customer requirements, analyzing Workday alternatives, providing recommendations, and developing appropriate technical and business solutions for implementation to meet overall HR and HRIS goals and objectives.  You will lead technology projects/solutions, provide guidance, and mentor less-experienced HRIS team members.  You will research, analyze, and present multiple Workday module solutions and strategy recommendations.   You will be responsible for high-quality solutions and deliver results while complying with data security and privacy requirements and IT General Controls. 

You must be collaborative, proactive, curious, and analytical with cross-functional groups and HR and IT peer groups.    
 

Responsibilities & Duties

1. Provide optimized Workday solutions from experience in implementation, design, and operational experience.

2. Assess the system and business process architectures currently in place and works with leadership, functional, and technical resources to recommend improvements, solutions, or strategies.

3. Develops, enhances, and maintains established service design procedures and processes by applying frameworks and methodologies.

4. Provide expert guidance and mentoring leadership to HRIS staff.  Ensure technical delivery teams provide efficient and effective solutions to support goals and objectives.

5. Prepares and presents technical presentations and briefings.

6. Provide leadership for consistent utilization of internal tools for ticketing and config management.

7. Continual partnership with regional and global HRIS leadership with short- and long-term focus and impacts.

8. Ensure compliance with IT General Controls and Employee data privacy and security.   

9. Lead or be involved with special projects as identified by the Global HRIS leadership team in support of the CHROs.

10. Stay current on HR technology trends and recommend new systems and technologies to the Regional and Global Directors. 

Work Environment

Currently, the Japan-based team is about 40 across a global team of about 80. Japan has a large operations team that supports the company and group-level HR, PMO, and Japan-specific solution designs.

Mandatory Qualifications:

General Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

2. Must have experience implementing and optimizing the Workday SaaS platform or similar platforms.

3. Must have experience developing operational protocols and processes to optimize the Workday or similar SaaS platform.  

4. Experience in building Workday designs and operations built on quality principles.

5. “Hands-on” leader who can operate with peers and superiors to create strategies to develop and improve the HRIS function and HR experience.

6. Demonstrable success through collaboration with peers, HR, and IT partners.

7. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail

8. Ability to deliver information quickly to make data-driven, sound recommendations.

9. Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask, and remain flexible.

Technical Competencies

1. At least 5 years of success as a Workday Implementer and/or Design/Operational Leader in a multi-national, publicly traded company.

2. Track record of forming proactive and lasting relationships with HRIS, HR leadership, executives, and IT teams and vendors delivering Workday solutions.

3. Depth of understanding and utilization of the Workday platform.

4. Track record of building a staff of Workday professionals and inspiring teamwork.

5. Understanding of HR data security and privacy, as well as IT General Controls and application to an HRIS organization.

1. Ability to understand the scope and details of a project plan and able to identify and communicate the resources per task or assigned areas of responsibility.

2. Working knowledge of software development life cycle activities (i.e., requirements, analysis, design, construction, testing, and deployment; including the agile orientation to these processes).

4. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.

5. Strong MS Office skills required in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
