Job Summary

This role will support our global HR/Payroll organization, working as a JAVA developer, team Lead & solution implementor for HR/Payroll systems.  There will be an opportunity to shape and influence the development methods, working in collaboration with world class partners and customers.  The role will need to partner with the various teams and functions – HR, Payroll, Compensation, Recruiting, Learning Management, and with various parts of the Digital Technology organization. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams of developers, provide technical leadership, and drive requirements to be sourced from RTX Workday integration hub to minimize the volume of integrations out of Workday.
  • Requirements gathering, analysis, design, and development of data integrations, applications using html / JavaScript / Oracle PL/SQL and JAVA.
  • Provide technical leadership on integrations / application development focused workshops, and partner with conversion leads, IT leads and local BU resources to ensure a holistic design and solution.
  • Enhance the IT processes and design approaches to meet project and business needs and deadlines. 
  • Develop expertise in Oracle / PL/SQL / JAVA / applications development / Integrations HUB and ADP integrations within RTX environment.
  • Identify opportunities in the overall project methodology for technical or process improvements to facilitate agile development, shorter timelines, and more robust integrations.
  • Support the Workday/ADP integration requirements across countries.  Communicate and work with HR, Payroll and Digital leadership teams accordingly to manage resource and system constraints, while supporting the project timeline goals.
  • In addition to process and system improvements, develop strong relationships with other members of the HR Digital team, HR, and Payroll teams to facilitate integration delivery & support.
  • Provide innovative technology solutions for the overall system landscape & architecture.
  • Develop functional, technical and integration expertise for self & team through continuous classroom training & on-the-job training.
  • Work with ADP, Workday and other partners to explore additional opportunities/value that can be provided to RTX through investments already made.  Drive RTX needs into their product design.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Experience in HR / Payroll domain.
  • Experience in the software development life cycle including Requirements, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of HR / Payroll applications using JAVA, Oracle PL/SQL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS.
  • Experience in the software development life cycle including Requirements, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of HR / Payroll applications using JAVA, Oracle PL/SQL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS.
  • Experience with JAVA development environment including, Tortoise SVN, Eclipse, ANT, Oracle JDBC.
  • Worked with TOOLS & UTILITIES like SVN, TOAD, SQL Plus, Oracle SQL Developer, Fiddler, JAVA SCRIPT, JQUERY Widgets, VISIO, WinMerge.
  • Worked with TOOLS & UTILITIES like VSS, TFS, SVN, Microsoft Visual Studio, Sql Server Management Studio, TOAD, SQL Plus, Oracle SQL Developer, Erwin Data modeler, AJAX2.0, Active-X, COM, MTS, XML, Xpath, XSLT,: HTML, DHTML, CSS, Fiddler, JAVA SCRIPT, JQUERY Widgets , VB SCRIPT, Bootstrap, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Erwin Data Modeler, VISIO, and REPORTING TOOLS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), CRYSTAL Reports
  • Experience in designing, developing, testing, and implementing complex JAVA programs including database programs using Oracle PL/SQL. Worked on the Oracle SQL queries and PL/SQL objects like functions, procedures, packages, triggers, views including materialized views, db_links, sequences, cursors, transactions, dynamic SQL queries, exception handling.
  • Experience in managing production support activities, debugging / fixing JAVA code and Oracle objects.
  • Experience in data mapping / conversion / transformation / integration activities according to third-party (vendor) requirements and integration of legacy applications/tools with the vendor tools including Workday / ADP products.
  • Optimizing performance of existing JAVA/ Oracle code, Oracle queries, stored procedures, packages, functions using explain plan.
  • Experience in working closely with QA teams and reviewing test plans.
  • Experience in assessing and solving complex issues imposed by nature of business, also, to carry out detailed impact assessments for proposed change requests, proposing alternative cost-effective solutions where appropriate.
  • Experience with large projects/implementations.
  • Experience with SQL Server, DOTNET framework with VB and C# languages, ADO.NET, SAML 2.0, Web frameworks ASP.NET MVC, Communication frameworks like WCF, Web Services, worked with Microsoft IIS 6.0/7.0/8.0/12.0 (preferred not required).
  • Linux experience preferred (not required) including Linux command line, BASH/ksh scripts, vi editor, server access via Putty and WinSCP.
