Job Description:

  • The HR Business Partner contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our Mumbai office through partnering with the businesses to ensure that our people strategies and initiatives are aligned to the growth and success of our business. The HR Business Partner provides support to Russell Investments’ business units in areas such as managing and assisting with organization and workforce planning and design, talent and leadership development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employment relations, regulatory compliance and other HR projects and initiatives as required.

  • This role requires the ability to build strong, trusted partnerships with our leaders and associates, both within Mumbai and across our global firm.  We are seeking a proactive team player with an ability to work in a change-oriented, fast paced environment, manage various tasks simultaneously and work with changing priorities.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

  • Partners proactively with and acts as a trusted advisor to leaders to support them in meeting their business objectives. 

  • Develops and implements proactive plans and initiatives that drive measurable impact and solve key challenges in the areas of associate engagement, development and retention within and across business lines, and drive the achievement of business goals. 

  • Monitor adherence to all HR policies, practices and procedures directly and through the HR Administrator. Interpret and communicates policies. Ensures accurate and timely HR data for assigned business units.

  • Develops plans for execution of talent, performance and comp cycles and delivers with critical functions and leaders. 

  • Identifies opportunities for development of HR focus and execution and leads projects to execute on solutions. 

  • Helps to develop leaders: gives advice, guidance, and provides tools to build leadership skill and capability.  

  • Engenders followership within the HR team.

  • Oversee and support the day to day operational running of all aspects of the employee lifecycle.  Ensure all associates receive accurate answers to queries within a reasonable time frame.  This may require escalating to appropriate functional area or HR leadership.

  • Act as a steward of the company’s values, advise and contribute to creating a diverse, inclusive, productive and high integrity work environment.

  • Partner with recruiting and the business to help scope roles for appropriate hiring and oversite of overall process, including job levels and compensation.

  • Lead on complex life cycle priorities, including employment relations.

  • The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Minimum of 10-13 years’ HR business partnering experience, managing client group and leadership relationships within a global matrix environment.

  • Experience and knowledge of human resources regulations, employment law, employee relations and relevant administration practices.

  • Professional and consultative approach in working with all levels of executives, leaders, management and employees.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information as well as possessing skills to handle situations in a professional and diplomatic manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and follow through on multiple priorities and assignments.

  • Ability to be flexible, but also to distinguish when appropriate to maintain boundaries.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Professional experience with Workday HRIS preferred.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong customer orientation.

  • Possess the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
