As a member of the Ryan Technology Organization (CTDO), this position is a critical component of the financial and business management of the organization. The CTDO Business Manager will liaise with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and CTDO leaders to coordinate Annual Operations Planning (AOP), quarterly Business Updates (BU), monthly P&Ls, and product cost management and reporting. The Business Manager will also coordinate and host the monthly financial review, including researching variances by G/L category and supplier as well as forecast updates throughout the year. The Business Manager will develop and manage metrics and KPIs for various financial measures for the organization. They will also provide support to executive-level meetings such as Monthly Operating Reviews (MOR), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), and Board of Director meetings. The CTDO Business Manager is the link between CTDO leadership and the FP&A organization in all matters regarding the financial status of the CTDO division.

In addition, the CTDO Business Manager will manage the standardized purchasing process for the CTDO division. This entails entering and reviewing technology purchase requests via a SharePoint system, hosting a weekly meeting with our CTDO to review all requests for funding, and entering POs in the Workday system. This position also works with the Procurement department to manage contract paperwork through the Legal department and manages the IT purchasing function that runs through the IT Support Center. The CTDO Business Manager will also create and manage the creation of annual blanket POs for regular services, quarterly review of blanket POs for required change orders, and backend research on invoices as requested by Accounts Payable and suppliers. They will also manage the process of moving services and POs to Ryan LLC from acquired companies as required. The CTDO Business Manager will also serve in the CTDO Reviewer role in the Workday system, reviewing all POs submitted for charge to the CTDO division, to ensure proper spend category and project/cost center coding. They should have solid understanding of general accounting principles including capitalized costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), operating expenses, depreciation, and amortization.

Duties and responsibilities aligned with Ryan Key Results:

People:

  • Creates a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that encourages productive interactions with leadership, team members, and suppliers.
  • Produces and maintains process documentation for the team as needed and ensures knowledge management.
  • Identifies and conducts training on new tasks and processes and refresher training as required for U.S. and India resources (inside and external to team).
  • Support hiring for the team if the team expands.
  • Leads efforts on knowledge management and cross-training if any.
  • Takes initiative in communicating with other team members (internal and external to immediate team) as well as suppliers.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience as a business or financial manager in the technology and/or consulting services industry, with a progressive record of successful delivery of results and process improvement

Computer Skills:

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research. 2-4 years’ experience with Workday Financials (particularly Purchasing).

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or geo-equivalent certification is highly desired.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position can include leading or managing a small team, directly or indirectly.

Work Environment:

  • Standard indoor working environment.
  • Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the firm as well as interaction with external suppliers and clients, as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Independent travel requirement: up to 10%.
