The Director of Product Management, Business Technology for Employee Success is an exciting role that drives significant transformation, innovation, and best practices for our fast paced and highly rewarding Employee Success organization.  This role reports to the Sr. Director of Product Management and offers the opportunity to lead our Workday team of Product Managers and Product Analysts, and work closely with our Workday architects and engineering teams. This, people and product, leadership role is responsible for effective executive stakeholder and partner engagement. Directing work assignments, portfolio roadmaps, influencing the balance of scope-budget-timelines, strategic planning and staffing, and demonstrating agile expertise with functional-technical-operational processes are some of the other key capabilities for this role. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to drive transformation and innovation to enable scale.  The Director of Product Management, Business Technology – Employee Success is responsible for oversight and delivery for the Human Capital Management, Recruiting, Onboarding, Candidate Experience, Talent Management, Payroll, Employee Experience and Total Rewards functions for the Employee Success organization. The individual partners in the development and implementation of Workday Product features, opportunity & innovation identification, and business case development across the technology set. Responsibilities include a strong focus on enabling scale, delivery excellence, innovation, and user experience, along with the direct management of two Sr. Product Managers and their product teams; dotted line responsibility for feature delivery by the global engineering scrum teams.

This individual should be someone equally comfortable in the tactical details of execution and delivery as well as driving strategic implications and decision-making with the leadership team. Ability to influence others and build strong collaborative relationships is extremely important as this work impacts the design of many key functions and processes across the enterprises. The individual should possess strong leadership qualities, including the ability to create and articulate product vision and objectives. The candidate needs to have strong people skills in the management of large ES business, BT and vendor teams. The individual for this role should be someone with solid business knowledge and technical background so that they are credible with our executive team. The selected candidate will be a hands-on leader, knowledgeable in Human Resource functions specifically Human Capital Management, Recruiting, Onboarding, Candidate Experience, Talent Management, Payroll, and Total Rewards. The candidate possess strong business engagement, promote a collaborative team culture, and ignite passion within the team to build and deliver robust flawless business solutions.

YOUR AREAS OF IMPACT:

  • Partner with Employee Success leadership to define and drive the Multi-year Product Portfolio and Roadmaps.

  • Accelerate the Employee Success organization into our planned future state with an end goal of enabling growth and global scale.

  • Coach and develop Product Managers to ensure teams deliver a common, customer-centric culture and apply agile methodology excellence in roles and function.

  • Bring industry standard methodology and external perspectives to educate peers and senior partners on the art of the possible as it relates to Human Capital Management, Recruiting, Onboarding, Candidate Experience, Talent Management, Payroll, and Total Rewards and influence partners in Employee Technology to implement new technology that brings value in greater efficiency and a better user experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage and develop a team of outstanding individuals providing product management and business systems analysis for transformational enterprise projects, capability enhancements, and unparalleled partnership.

  • Manage the product portfolio for continuous innovation and adoption of product features to drive value for the organization.

  • Manage vendors to plan, execute and monitor projects directly and/or indirectly.

  • Maintain industry knowledge and enhance subject matter expertise, identify trends and changes in client and competitor behaviors, and stay on top of changing regulatory requirements.

  • Follow a cyclical process of business value, financial review, forecasting, idea generation, discovery, business case preparation, product development, and implementation.

  • Build and develop alignment within the organization through frequent interaction with stakeholders throughout Employee Success, Finance, Compliance and Business Technology.

  • Collaborate with Employee Success Digital, Security, Architecture, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations and Program Management partners in coordinating delivery of complex, multi-year objectives.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management team in a rapidly growing environment, including 5+ years of people management experience.

  • Deep understanding of the Workday technology platform, development and middleware tools, and best practices for integration management in a highly complex global environment.

  • Familiarity with EIB’s, Workday Studio, Core Connectors and integrations with 3rd party service providers required; Experience with Next Generation principles and tools like Enterprise Data Hubs, Snowflake or MuleCloud highly desired.

  • Bachelor’s degree – BA, BS or equivalent.

  • Technical expertise and evidence of mastery in implementation of Workday solutions; Workday partner or pro certification preferred.

  • Experience delivering large-scale global HCM implementations is required. Engineering experience driving internal and external Integration work streams desired. M&A implementation experience is a plus.

  • Excellent program management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously to achieve targeted budget and completion dates.

  • Experience with design thinking, agile leadership, and continuous delivery. 

  • Experience collaborating with Engineering, Product, UX, and People Operations/ Human Resources teams to drive design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Human Resources solutions.

  • Business background with deep understanding of customers, digital opportunities, the company’s value proposition for its HR products, and the technology context and strategy required to enable and differentiate.

  • Process improvement orientation: A proven ability to recommend solutions, champion change, manage implementation, influence others, and foster teamwork.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to convey complex ideas in a strategic and concise fashion.
