Position Summary:
The People Analytics Consulting team at Salesforce is a demand and marketing engine of our broader People Analytics team. We drive our client groups and partners to make data informed and smarter decisions, faster. We build a decision support system to grow and scale our business.

In this role, you will be responsible for consulting with Senior ES (Employee Success, or HR at Salesforce) and business leaders to transform raw people data into meaningful and practical business insights by using a data driven approach and the application of strategic analytic skills. The key focal points for this role will be providing strategic partnership and analytics solution delivery for Salesforce’s Chief People Officer and other executive leaders in partnership with the broader People Analytics team. The candidate must have extensive experience with using Tableau and, ideally, has prior experience working with all areas of people analytics data, such as Diversity & Inclusion, Talent, Compensation, and Recruiting.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Partner with Senior ES and business leaders to identify key people metrics that align with business strategies and help to drive decisions
  • Architect effective, scalable, and easy to understand dashboards and reporting solutions based on statistical analyses to identify useful and practical insights for the ES team and business leaders
  • Produce concise, story-driven presentations to communicate analytic insights
  • Use Tableau to build, maintain, and update interactive data dashboards and visualizations
  • Provide training and enablement to ES and business partners on the use of analytics and basic statistical measurements
  • Use mathematical concepts, statistical analysis, experience, and industry knowledge to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  • Design and implement data models using statistical principles (e.g., regression, correlation, etc.)
  • Prepare and audit people related data, checking and ensuing accuracy, to be used in analyses and statistical modeling
  • Handle special projects as assigned in a broad range of People Analytics subject areas
  • Assist in the creation of communication materials and presentations to support analysis, implementation of programs, or for process updates

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Expertise in using Tableau to present insights through visual analysis
  • Outstanding data analysis and quantitative skills, including attention to detail and ability to manage various data points to achieve a common goal (people knowledge, internal data, external tools)
  • Advanced ability to advise partners and translate business problems into research to inform decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate analytics insights to non-technical audiences, including senior executive leadership
  • Advanced ability to investigate, analyze and solve sophisticated problems/issues
  • Demonstrated track record for planning, completing and auditing work; able to see and apply results strategically and systematically breaking down problems or processes into their parts and developing several alternative solutions
  • Ability to partner, influence, and work effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information, issues and events
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Possess strong planning, execution, and multitasking skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize accordingly. Must be able to handle constantly evolving priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Confirmed project execution skills with a strong desire to detail standard methodologies and process improvements
  • Well organized, with attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, highly ambiguous environment, balancing multiple priorities
  • Not afraid of asking questions, but with the ability to move on afterwards. Ability to push back if vital


  • BS/BA degree in Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Information Management, or related quantitative field
  • 5-8+ years of professional experience in analytics, finance, statistics, consulting or other related fields
  • Proven experience with Tableau Desktop and Server, and interest to become an expert in Tableau’s full product suite required
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS, applicant tracking, and performance management systems preferred
  • Extensive experience with analytics software (e.g., R, Python) and/or SQL language is required
  • Software industry experience preferred
