The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Business Systems Architect, Workday. This role serves as a top-level functional expert in one or more highly specialized areas of HCM and Financials systems analysis. Provides leadership in the design and implementation of software solutions for the enterprise and partners with business stakeholders to drive detailed solution design. This is a hybrid role located in Cincinnati, OH.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • The main focus of this position will be centered around Workday Extend development.

  • Provide direction in the analysis, design, implementation, and documentation of new or existing applications as well as performing specific development or implementation tasks as required.

  • Advise, guide, and direct others in the development and support of new or existing applications.

  • Provide production support of HCM and Financial applications by investigating and resolving problems and user questions and providing functional guidance to others.

  • Authorize changes to the system/applications and migrate them to production.

  • Review problem management reports for accuracy, thoroughness, and general quality.

  • Prepare specifications and procedures necessary to support the development process.

  • Support business users in the identification of business issues and their root-causes.

  • Act as a functional consultant to end-users as needed.

  • Assist, in a secondary role, in the ongoing development of group members.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred.

  • Generally, 5+ years of experience in related field preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office applications.

  • Proven analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle: from requirements gathering to development, testing and delivery.

  • Understanding of the latest technology, social media and communications developments.
