JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a BSA (Analyst) to join our Human Resources team at Simmons University. Reporting to the Director of Benefits & Human Resources Operations, the Analyst will be responsible for managing and supporting the Human Resources functionality within Workday. From identifying areas of improvement to assisting with developing and implementing solutions, the Analyst will play a critical role in reducing manual processes and improving data integrity through technological innovation and best practices as well as a key resource for the Human Resources team when issues are identified in the HCM module. Working with the Director and other HR stakeholders, the Analyst will support the management of the day-to-day technology and operations of the HCM module in Workday (including HR, Recruiting, Benefits, Compensation), with a focus on accuracy, urgency, problem solving, compliance and ownership. The Analyst will also be responsible for writing, maintaining and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing Workday, Excel and other data analytical tools.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Analysis

Engage with internal stakeholders (HR Team) to determine a strategy and vision for software applications, including business needs and requirements.

Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, users, and Technology team.

Develop and execute communication plans, proactively providing information related to functionality changes, known issues or other application related news.

Regularly share and report on optimization and enhancement findings, documenting changes to the system.
-
Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
-
Negotiate priorities and long-term plans with the design team, stakeholders, and technical team, for updates/changes within HCM module (supporting HR, Recruiting, Benefits and Compensation) that produce a high- quality minimum viable product.

Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects through developing project plans and monitoring performance.

Participate in HR technology initiatives by assisting with business requirement gathering, business process review, project management, testing, training, documentation development and communication which will be used for business configuration.

Partner with the business users to recommend supplemental solutions leveraging Workday and Workday business processes to support ongoing business process changes.

Work to develop standard reports for ongoing HR needs and to support HR's interface with other departments (IPEDS, etc.); including, turnover, headcount, recruiting, engagement, and other key metrics to drive organizational effectiveness.

Partner with campus stakeholders to document process modifications requests that support changing business and compliance requirements; then working with HR and Technology to see feasibility and/or configuration of request.
Operational SupportÂ

Lead HCM operational support related to user security access, application tuning, configuration, audit and compliance for applications integrated with the Workday Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment.

Configure, test and deploy requested and required changes to Workday in coordination with functional offices and Technology support; when enhanced configuration needed work with Technology to coordinate configuration with internal and potential external partners.

Provide appropriate analysis in partnership with business related to process changes to assess system impact (both from a technical and change management perspective) and options.

Escalate and facilitate decisions around production changes within HCM module.

Ensure all operational functions run as expected and provide triage and resolution when there are issues.
-
Coordinate deployment of application changes to production environment following established change management protocols and/or Workday Release updates.
-
Monitor HR and Benefits integration activity and work with Technology when updates are needed.
-
Develop test plans, coordinate and execute system testing.
-
Generate documentation and facilitate implementation of business requirements for technology initiatives including: data flows, data modeling, workflow and business process.

Participate in system planning and testing including user acceptance testing and system integration testing.

Provide troubleshooting by phone and in person and ensure all issues reach resolution in timely manner with ongoing communication.

Work with end users to understand reporting needs and develop appropriate reports and reporting timeframes.

Act as HRIS troubleshooter and provide end user technical support and problem solving.

Conduct periodic audits of data in Workday system.

Create and implement plans to correct any discrepancies.

Participate in regular meetings with the Workday Team across the functional areas to ensure clear prioritization and communication of new configuration/uptake.
Training and Documentation

Apply and implement HCM best practices, guidelines.
-
Develop and facilitate end-user classroom, online, or vendor-delivered training in both group and one- on-one settings.

Create and maintain technical and end user documentation.
-
Maintain release notes and help documentation, ensuring that Simmons’s collaboration tools reflect the final content of the release.

Maintain and groom product backlog for future configurations and enhancements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience;
-
Minimum of two years of Workday configuring process or experience configuring Workday HCM, including experience with Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Absence, and Time Tracking.

Prior HR or HRIS knowledge.
-
Minimum of two years related administrative systems experience in a business analysis capacity.

Knowledge of, and ability to apply applicable Human Resources policies & procedures.

Experience with project management.
-
Ability to read Workday business processes.
-
Ability to use Excel and other tools to manipulate data for import or export.
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work multiple tasks.

Ability to prepare documentation/training materials.

Ability to provide training and user support.

Excellent problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Higher education or non-profit experience.

Workday Payroll knowledge a plus.
-
Strong knowledge of business analyst tools and techniques: requirements elicitation/documentation, user support, system configuration and testing.
This position is preferred as having a partial remote schedule, with a blend of in-office and remote work (in office 1 day a week or 1 day every other week). However, for the right candidate, we are open to considering a fully remote work arrangement.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not sponsor a visa for this position.
