Smith+Nephew is hiring Payroll Specialist with Spanish

The Payroll Specialist with Spanish collaborates within a team responsible for accurately gathering payroll data in a timely manner. This involves handling end-to-end processing for payrolls across various countries in Smith & Nephew's regional setup. Key duties encompass data entry and system updates in Workday and local payroll systems, managing interfaces between Workday and local payroll systems, and executing outbound vendor interfaces. The role entails proficiency in all payroll functions and extends support to payrolls beyond the coordinator's usual processing countries whenever necessary.

What you will be doing?

  • Enter and review payroll data on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Manage various aspects of employee processing including maintenance, tax information, direct deposits, new hires, and terminations.

  • Responsible for daily payroll activities in Portugal and providing backup support for Spain.

  • Collaborating with HR personnel to ensure accurate and timely updates to employee records in the Workday system.

  • Oversee interfaces and reports between Workday HR and local payroll systems, ensuring smooth communication and data flow.

  • Conduct thorough audits of payroll data entry and employee status changes to guarantee precision before executing payroll processes.

  • Ensure timely and accurate administration of employee deductions like garnishments, insurances, and taxes, complying with regulations and remitting to the appropriate agencies or authorities .

  • Execute and audit payroll outbound interfaces to be sent to third party vendors.

  • Handling payroll queries

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team on projects related to system upgrades for Workday, local Payroll, and Time & Attendance systems, contributing to enhancements and advancements in these areas.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education: minimum of Bachelor’s degree

  • Payroll Proficiency: In-depth understanding and experience in managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring comprehensive knowledge of all facets within the payroll domain.

  • Precision and Detail Orientation: Demonstrated track record of maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in executing tasks, ensuring error-free and meticulous work.

  • Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating clear and concise interaction within the team and with stakeholders to convey information accurately.

  • Confidentiality and Autonomy: Capability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion and professionalism. Proficiency in working independently, showing initiative and delivering results under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.

  • Languages: fluency in English and Spanish
