POSITION SUMMARY                                                                                      

Spencer Stuart is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) in Mexico City.  This person is responsible for all human resources activities for the Mexico office, including, but not limited to: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, employment law compliance, engagement, mobility and/or immigration, data management and other HR administrative projects.

The Human Resources department within Spencer Stuart is committed to the firm’s key business initiatives by focusing on continuous improvement of current processes while collaborating with each other and our colleagues in various other functional groups (legal, finance, learning and development, and technology). The HR team works in conjunction with our corporate partners to develop and complete projects, implement and support programs, policies and processes that continually add value to the Firm by focusing on the employee life cycle (recruitment, onboarding, performance and development).

Key responsibilities

  • Support recruitment activities (e.g. job specifications, job postings, initial screens, assessments, background checks)
  • Plan, organize, coordinate and conduct new employee orientations and orientation material
  • Manage leaves and employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, investigations, grievances, disciplinary actions and improvement, and exit strategies
  • Identify and escalate potential issues for compliance with global and local HR policies, laws and regulations; maintain employee handbook
  • Ensure benefits and policies are in compliance, competitive and coherent to attract and retain talent
  • Enter data and review for accuracy employee information in Workday. Provide ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of the annual performance review process
  • Partner closely with local leadership to drive local projects and initiatives in alignment to wider regional people agenda.
  • Participate in regional or global projects as necessary

CANDIDATE PROFILE                                                                                     

The Human Resources Business Partner will work directly with the larger Global People team and other members of Corporate Functions such as Finance or Legal team. The person that fills this role will bring a passion for human resources. Will be intellectually curious on all topics related to talent management, be thoughtful, creative, emotionally intelligent and demonstrate competence in a variety of HR functional areas. This position requires tremendous attention to detail and a fervent customer service orientation. The position will formulate dedicated working relationships and partnerships across various teams. The successful candidate must have comprehensive verbal and written communication skills.

Ideal experience

University Degree

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a relevant field

5 years of progressive Human Resources (Business Partner or Generalist) experience

Working experience in a professional services is strongly preferred

Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required

Additional language skills will be an advantage

  • Provides counsel to leaders on recruitment strategies, such as attracting qualified candidates with external sites, revising job specifications to meet ever-changing business needs, and extending offers to the right hire
  • Provides support, and advice on HR policy interpretations to leaders and individuals based Mexico

  • A strong understanding of Polish employment law and best practices

  • Strong understanding of HR information systems. Experience with Workday is desired.
