Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise two direct reports on the accounts payable team
  • Review/approve supplier invoices, miscellaneous payment requests and purchase orders – investigate/resolve discrepancies
  • Ensures timely invoice entry and expense report processing
  • Review expense reports, as needed
  • Prepare/review/book manual journal entries, as needed
  • Review monthly bank reconciliation
  • Responsible for vendor maintenance in ERP
  • Annual 1099s – review forms for accuracy and ensure timely filing with IRS
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies of financial information – i.e., vendors statements, purchase orders, general ledger, etc.
  • Assist with annual audits and tax preparation
  • Actively participating in special projects, continuous process improvements and other duties as assigned 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in accounting, math and deductive reasoning 
  • Experience with Microsoft products, particularly Excel 
  • Experience with Workday ERP a plus
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles 
  • Must have strong listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Accuracy and thoroughness is required 
  • Must be flexible and can multi-task, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion 
  • Ability to work with others 
  • Hybrid Work schedule

Education and/or Training

  • 5+ years of experience in the accounting field preferred 
  • Previous experience managing a team
