Job Description:

The Best Practice Consultant, Operational Services focuses on supporting the HR People Operational Excellence Leader by leading the identification and management of process improvement initiatives within the HR Operations function.

What will you do?

Manage HR Operations Continuous Improvement

  • Support implementation of strategic initiatives in collaboration with the Operational Excellence Leader.

  • Support the development of the continuous improvement framework and mechanisms for HR Operations.

  • Enforce continuous improvement and operational excellence mindsets across all levels of the function.

  • Work closely with the HR Performance and Data Analyst to review performance results and trends on a periodic basis and develop identify areas of opportunity for operational efficiency, cost efficiency, and customer and HR employee experience.

  • Conduct deep analysis and investigation of all areas of opportunity to identify root causes, potential solutions, and associated impacts to operations (collaborating with People Services, People Operations, and Payroll Operations teams, as required); develop qualitative or quantitative case for change and share with the Operational Excellence Leader.  

  • Work with Operational Excellence team members and Leader to share optimization opportunities with impacts outside of HR Operations and requiring the collaboration and support from Centres of Expertise and / or Business HR

  • Maintain a prioritized pipeline of all opportunities; work close with the Operations Transformation teams to implement opportunities based on capacity and priority.

Monitor HR Process Improvement Initiatives

  • Evaluate effectiveness of active process improvement initiatives

  • Perform organizational and data analytics and quality management checks.

Liaise with Other Teams

  • Work with the Workday Support Team to ensure technology is optimised to best meet HR Ops and customer requirements.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
