The Compensation Analyst collaboratively participates in and supports the design, development, implementation, compliance, administration and communication of the Syniverse total rewards program with focus on the compensation components of the program. This position assists with the planning, implementation, analysis and administration of compensation programs with the goal of maintaining competitive practices. As part of the total rewards team, this role will also participate in benefits-related work (e.g. annual benefits planning, open enrollment, etc.) and provide significant mentorship & guidance to team members.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for job analysis and market pricing review processes, including analyzing job descriptions for appropriate grade, level, title and FLSA status.
  • Partner with HRBPs and Managers to understand business needs, job requirements and organizational design to evaluate jobs and job families. Lead the creation and revision of job descriptions that both reflect the needs of the company and the market trends.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Syniverse’s job framework, participating in related committee discussions and advising on sustainable decisions
  • Administer the base pay, annual merit, bonus, and performance management cycle, following general oversight and direction. Ensure adherence in the determination of merit increases and consistency towards other salary adjustments, bonus targets and out of guideline situations.
  • Interpret policies, answer questions and counsel HRBPs and Managers on Syniverse compensation philosophy and programs.
  • Analyze, adjust and administer global salary structures. Develop global salary structures based on regional needs.
  • Conducts market and trend analyses through salary survey input and market intelligence/research on an ad hoc and annual basis.
  • Conducts annual reviews of company trends such as internal equity and turnover, in order to make appropriate recommendations to salary levels and the use of the salary ranges.
  • Ensures compensation programs and job classifications comply with applicable wage and hour laws including the FLSA, DOL requirements, as well as local laws globally.
  • Identify and recommend improvements and efficiencies around compensation processes and programs.
  • Works with HR Technology team to ensure compensation related processes and information are up to date and reflect appropriate set up and design. Support Workday configuration processes.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience in Compensation in a role that demonstrates an understanding of salary surveys, market pricing jobs and creating effective job descriptions.
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel ability required
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Workday experience preferred
