Our HR Technology strategy involves a forward-thinking approach to understanding current and future trends as well as the impact of our investments in our people. The HR Technology Specialist is a member of the HR function. They will be the primary support contact for our Workday user community while also ensuring that the security and confidentiality of our Workday platform is maintained. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of the HR function, is proactive and creative in looking at issues, an strong team player, and is comfortable with navigating the Workday platform. There is room for role expansion to support other HR technology such as Workhuman, Cornerstone, and Qualtrics.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the SME for areas of Workday, such as Absence and Time Tracking
  • Primary support contact for the Workday user community by trouble shooting problems, answering questions, creating and/or modifying reports, assisting with organizational restructures ensuring queries are addressed in a timely manner with excellent customer service
  • Collaborate with Workday Community and the Area User groups to resolve issues found within Workday and proactively remain informed about Workday enhancements
  • Create documentation for new processes and update existing documentation based on enhancements made to existing processes
  • Perform Workday administrative functions including security maintenance, business process configuration, data loads, password resets, creating cost centers, etc
  • Assist with twice a year mandatory system enhancement releases including regression testing and identifying process improvements for the Absence and Time Tracking area
  • Regularly perform data audits and validation, and follow up with appropriate teams for corrections
  • Collaborate with HR and functional stakeholders to build reporting (basic and advanced – calculated fields/all reporting types)

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of Workday Absence/Time Tracking and/or HCM including Business Processes, Supervisory Orgs, and Hierarchies
  • Capable of writing/maintaining Standard, Advanced, and Matrix reports. Experience with creating complex calculated fields
  • Must be experienced user of MS Office (Word, Excel Outlook, PowerPoint; In Excel, must have ability to create pivot tables, vlookups)

Education and Experience Needed:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of back-end experience on the Workday platform
  • 3-4  years Workday Absence & Time Tracking strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree; human resources preferred or related field
  • Minimum of three years of relevant HR work experience; four preferred
  • Flexibility to meet continuously changing priorities and challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • A strong foundation and understanding of key HR practices and issues
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
