Compensation Analyst – People Operations 

Location (or Flexible Location) 

TNTP seeks a full-time Compensation Analyst to support our People Operations team. This position is based in a home office anywhere in the U.S. and is available immediately. Travel for team and organizational meetings a few times a year may be required (contingent upon organizational/state/federal regulations).

TNTP’s People Operation team delivers core HR services and partnership to support our most important asset: Our People. We are a small team working to ensure TNTP’s policies and processes enable the organization to operate in compliance and with efficiency as a multi-state employer, and support and advance the organization’s sustainability and equity goals. We use Workday to support the core services we provide to employees, and it is a critical part of our quality and efficiency. 

What You’ll Do 

As the Compensation Analyst, you will support the analysis, design, and administration of compensation programs within TNTP. You will use your analytic and systems expertise to efficiently manage TNTP’s compensation data and total rewards policies and the associated data analysis and process improvement initiatives 

 

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Manage compensation survey databases and annual/ad hoc salary benchmarking 

  • Conduct data analysis to evaluate total rewards program, e.g., by conducting regular market analysis and supporting third party pay equity analysis  

  • Oversee compensation offer process, in partnership with Workforce, and advise on salary offers in alignment with TNTP’s compensation philosophy (regular and contingent staff) 

  • Support consistent policy implementation and assist with necessary compensation updates  

  • Focus on continuous improvement of process and policy implementation related to the compensation function  

  • Conduct ad-hoc research and analyses on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends 

  • Serve as compensation lead for Workday 

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing compensation, in partnership with the Legal team 

  • Support projects focused on improving aspects of TNTP’s compensation program and staff experience

We expect our Compensation Analyst to:    

  • Love data. You will design and implement processes to ensure data integrity and develop data management solutions. You love data and are thorough, accurate and obsessively attentive to detail. 

  • Implement solutions to complex challenges.  You’ll use your strong compensation background and project management skills to execute complex streams of work, proposing and implementing solutions to move our work toward ambitious goals. 

  • Manage and improve processes and systems.You have a process improvement mindset and are comfortable leveraging technology to improve operational efficiency. 

  • Build relationships. You’ll regularly partner with internal team members to accomplish your work. You use your cultural understanding of yourself and others to build trusting relationships with colleagues and internal clients.   

 

Qualifications and Experiences 

  • 3+ years compensation experience  

  • Prior experience with Workday HCM (Compensation preferred) 

  • Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, working with and cleaning large data sets) 

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local compensation and employment laws 

  • Self-reliant, results-oriented problem-solving skills, including the ability to critically assess challenges and identify innovative, effective solutions in ambiguous situations.   

  • Experience providing technical leadership, development, and cultivation to staff and team members.   

  • Ability to research, assess, and recommend improvements  

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to make decisions, work efficiently, prioritize effectively, and anticipate future needs in a fast-paced environment. 

 What We Offer 

TNTP offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position with the potential for an annual performance-based bonus. The salary range for this position is $72,800 – $109,200. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, covering the majority of the employee premium for the base medical plan and subsidizing the majority of costs for a spouse/domestic partner and children. Other benefits include dental and vision plans, disability, life insurance, parenting benefits, flexible spending account options, generous vacation time, commuter benefits, referral bonuses, professional development, and a 403(b) plan. TNTP may offer a relocation stipend to defray the cost of moving for this role, if applicable.
