People Operations Generalist

TNTP seeks a full-time People Operations Generalist for our Central Operations Division. This position is based in a home office anywhere in the U.S. and is available immediately. Travel for team and organizational meetings is required a few times a year (depending on current state and federal guidance).

TNTP’s People Operations team delivers core HR services and partnership to support our most important asset: our people. We are a small team working to ensure TNTP’s policies and processes enable the organization to operate in compliance and with efficiency as a multi-state employer, and to support and advance the organization’s sustainability and equity goals. We use Workday to support the core services we provide to employees, and it is a critical factor in the quality and efficiency of our work.

What You’ll Do

As a People Operations Generalist you will support the design and administer human resources policies and procedures, collect and analyze HR data related to questions and issues to determine improvements to be made within People and Central Operations, oversee and establishes procedures for employee lifecycle functions, and prepare internal employee communications regarding company policies and performance management. Specific responsibilities include:

Manage employee lifecycle operations 

  • Maintain and manage changes to configuration of Core HCM and Talent business processes 

  • Monitor data integrity of HR data in Workday and ensure appropriate and relevant audit controls are in place

  • Perform audits to monitor consistent implementation of perf mgmt. processes, including goal-setting, development planning, mid-year and end of year performance review

  • Oversee maintenance of employee records, incl processing new regular and seasonal hires, job changes

  • Oversee voluntary and involuntary exit process, including exit interviews and severance

Manage employee policies

  • Maintain, update and ensure communication of employee policies

  • Ensure service level goals are met, including oversight of JIRA and sharepoint infrastructure and reporting

  • Advise staff and managers on HR pollicues and practices

  • Design and manage processes and practices to ensure compliance with employee policies, incl but not limited to COVID policies, FLSA, completion of required training, COIs, schedule changes and requests for accommodations

  • Support the design and delivery of employment law and compliance training to staff and managers

  • At least 3 years of experience in a human resources focused role

  • Strong HR process design and implementation skills

  • Experience as a Workday HCM Lead

  • Experience interpreting and managing compliance with EEO and ADA and state-level employment law

  • Prior experience using both a help desk system (e.g., Zendesk, JIRA) and MS SharePoint (preferred)

What We Offer

TNTP offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position with the potential for an annual performance-based bonus. The salary range for this position is $58,400 – 87,600. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.  We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, covering the majority of the employee premium for the base medical plan and subsidizing the majority of costs for a spouse/domestic partner and children.
