Job Summary

The Employment Coordinator (Adjunct Faculty), under direction, supports the recruiting and hiring process for the University ensuring efficiency and a smooth workflow.  The position provides guidance and assistance to the campus departments and applicants regarding the online employment applicant system, maintain applicant status, the hiring processes and employee onboarding.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to University departments in the recruiting, hiring and termination processes.

  • Assists the departments and HR contacts in submitting job requisitions for vacant positions.

  • Guide employees through the steps involved in the recruiting process issues in our current Human Resources Information System (HRIS) – Workday. 

  • Assists candidates with inquiries concerning their application.  This includes application status updates, job posting interpretation, troubleshooting and general education about the recruiting process. 

  • Develop and maintain relationships and provides guidance and service to administrators, staff, and HR contacts and partners regarding employment issues.

  • Produces reports and statistics.  Oversee and develop internal backup procedures and documentation of standard operating procedures.

  • Present training workshops to staff on various employment topics such as interviewing and hiring processes.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Conduct new hire orientation.  Coordinate with I-9 and Benefits partners to ensure hiring process is completed.

  • Verify that hiring documentation including application for employment; certification of criminal background check and other related documents are properly filed in the Laserfiche document repository. 

  • Present at special events and workshops. Provide training resources or reference materials as needed.

  • Coordinate with academic departments to identify areas of adjunct faculty need.  Ensure that adjunct faculty vacancies are posted in a timely manner.

  • Set appropriate deadlines for adjunct faculty processing.  Communicate these deadlines to departments.

  • Work in collaboration with the departments and Payroll Office to ensure the adjunct faculty are compensated correctly and on time. 

  • Assist department HR contact with Workday process inquiries and any corrections as needed.

  • Run internal report to ensure adjunct compensation accuracy.

  • Assist other members of the department as needed. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

  • Experience – Three years of related experience.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Prior experience in human resources.

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Database, spreadsheet, presentation and word processing software.

Ability to:

  • Multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Basic planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner.

Preferred Knowledge and Abilities

  • Prior experience with Workday or similar human resources systems

Licensing / Professional Certification – None.

Salary: $21.11/hourly
