Job Summary:

The Benefits Analyst supports a comprehensive benefits program and is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability. The Benefits Analyst will utilize a solid working knowledge of HR practices encompassing administration, organization, and workflow. The Benefits Analyst will be utilizing advanced technical skills to perform analysis and reporting related to the reconciliation and integrity of benefit plans, testing of processes and system design, and support the auditing of plans for consistent administration and compliance with plan documents and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage/reconcile billing for benefits and payroll vendors and research discrepancies
  • Provide day-to-day support to associates about eligibility, on plan provisions, benefit enrollment status changes and other pertinent benefit-related matters
  • Liaison between associates and external Benefits Concierge Team
  • Ensure exceptional customer service while counseling associates with benefit issues, education of benefits and administration of benefit plans via phone , email or in-person
  • Review and address benefit carrier file errors
  • Process funding for all retirement and fringe benefit plans
  • Assist with the benefits orientation onboarding process
  • Assist with benefits plan communications
  • Run reports and analytics as needed
  • Create/maintain calendar of recurring weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual events/processes (Filing 5500, Affordable Care Act (ACA), OE timeline, NDT, legal notices and filings, etc.)
  • Maintain all administrative functions as they relate to the Benefits Team day-to-day tasks
  • Respond timely to inquiries submitted via ticketing system
  • Participate in meetings with benefits TPA and Investment Committee
  • Assist with the open enrollment process including quality assurance testing of plan changes
  • Analyze and interpret process issues and provide recommendations to increase efficiencies and improve Benefit related processes
  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data including, but not limited to, the auditing and reconciliation of benefit deductions in the Human Capital Management System vs. deductions in the benefits TPA system
  • Stay current with changes in benefits and related legislation – HIPAA, ACA, etc.
  • Assist in requirements gathering, testing, and implementation of benefit file feeds
  • Act as point of contact for internal and external auditors
  • Annual filings and processes (i.e. PCORI, Safe Harbor Notice, SAR, etc.)
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and update existing SOPs as needed
  • Assist with implementation of benefits projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience administering benefit plans or in an HR analytical role

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Proficiency in analysis and interpretation of large volumes of data
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks to complete job function in an orderly, efficient manner
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a rapid changing work environment
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate the highest level of client service and support
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Detail-oriented, motivated, and a self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to identify when escalation is necessary
  • Ability to identify potential opportunities for process improvements as necessary
  • Workday HCM experience preferred
