About ThedaCare!

Summary :

The Director, Accounting is responsible for corporate financial matters including consolidations, balance sheet management, cash and investment management, accounts payable, payroll, annual audit and tax returns, and affiliated foundations. Ensures documentation complies with ThedaCare’s regulations, professional standards, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Keeps abreast of new GAAP reporting guidelines and tax laws, interpreting those guidelines and implementing them within our financial reporting. Identifies, develops, and supports customer service, quality, safety, and financial metrics. Works collaboratively with the leadership team to develop department/division initiatives that focus on team member engagement, process improvement initiatives, customer satisfaction, and workplace safety.

Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Provides strategic planning, program development, labor management, and overall operational administration of the department.

2. Effectively directs team members in a manner consistent with ThedaCare policies and values. Ensures the recruitment and retention of competent team members to meet the needs of the business operations of the department.

3. Oversees and ensures accuracy of time and attendance and payroll practices.

4. Coordinates annual financial audits and ensures timely completion.

5. Manages month-end close process.

6. Manages appropriate financial disclosure and treatment of pension plans.

7. 9. Coordinates annual 990 tax returns.

8. Coordinates 1099 and other governmental filings. 11. Delivers timely and accurate financial statements.

9. Ensures proper reconciliation and accrual of general ledger accounts.

10. Oversees treasury and cash management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

• Five years of leadership experience to include leading teams and/or projects

• Eight years of progressive responsibility in a leadership position

• Three years of Workday experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance

• Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility

• Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
