Working at Transurban is different; it’s a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day. We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.

About the role
We’re seeking a Senior Business Analyst to bring their expertise and play a pivotal role in the entire systems development life cycle, ensuring optimal outcomes for users while minimising risks.

You'll join an innovative team and collaborate with delivery leads on business-wide projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

As our Senior Business Analyst, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes to our critical processes that make our business hum, so Transurban can continue to shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful and challenging work.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Gather requirements from various stakeholders across People & Culture, Payroll, Procurement, Finance and Security teams and present ‘As-Is’ and 'To-be' business processes

  • Support on two projects or delivery teams where you'll:

– Engage in requirements elicitation, including current state analysis, workshop facilitation, and supporting key project activities

– Confidently support a hybrid delivery team who support operations and continuous improvements enhancements

  • Collaborate with the team conducting UAT processes, providing design and coordination support

  • Supporting system projects and providing business analysis with business stakeholders, end users, technical SMEs and ERP support teams

  • Support change management and transition to operations to ensure end user adoption of new tools, systems and business processes

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

  • Project and/or BAU business improvement delivery experience in a business analyst role

  • Extensive experience in business analysis, including operational efficiencies, process design, and improvement, across all phases of the systems development life cycle

  • Experience with Workday HCM, Finance modules, payroll systems, and other leading ERP solutions like SAP and PeopleSoft

  • Agile project delivery methodology with flexibility to support various team needs beyond traditional BA tasks

  • Flexibility and adaptability are crucial; be prepared to switch between supporting operational and continuous improvement teams, as well as strategic ERP projects, based on shifting priorities and urgent needs

  • Operate autonomously, taking ownership of tasks and confidently managing stakeholders at all levels, from Executive to Operational

  • Analytical self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks

If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.

With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year

  • 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well

  • Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests

  • Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more

  • Share offers and insurance benefits

  • Social activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer days

We offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.

We embrace diversity with a foundation of safety, wellbeing and inclusion; where everyone belongs. We treat everyone with fairness, consideration and respect, regardless of gender, gender identity, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs, cultural or socio-economic background, perspective, and experience – whether they work for us or not. We want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe to express ideas, questions and concerns.

We strongly encourage applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people living with disability.
