JOB OVERVIEW

 

Engineer – Data Analytics is a member of the Trimble People Analytics team that is responsible for enhancing the overall company performance as it applies to PX data management, advanced and predictive analytics and innovation. We are in the mission to develop robust data analytics capabilities within PX to support the strategic and operational objectives of PX teams in support of Trimble’s business strategy. The role would be based out of Chennai reporting to Lead – People Analytics currently based in India – Chennai.The role would combine Technical, Data management skills to develop and enhance People Analytics solutions within the organization 

SKILLS REQUIRED

 

  •   Good understanding of PX data and functions that impact PX results.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand data and relationships

  • Expertise in Developing applications for the stakeholders 

  •   Expertise in building predictive, Analytical models for PX functions

  •   Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders across geographies.

  •   Excellent communication and presentation skills required.

  •   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Statistical programming languages like R or Python

  • Statistical Model Building

  • Scripts & Macros 

  • AWS 

  • MySQL                  

  • Domo Dashboarding & Domo App Development (desired)

  • Microsoft Tools (Excel, Powerpoint etc)                                             

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Design and Develop advanced Predictive Models

  • Ability to develop tools / Apps in DOMO and other tools

  • Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve issues

  • Creating complex data models as per the need of business requirements.

  • Taking ownership of stakeholders requests and provide timely resolution

  • Understand data security criteria while preparing and sharing data

  • Collects and Integrate data from a variety of sources including the Workday System and other internal and external sources

  • To analyze People data to identify relationships and trends proactively and recommend actions

  • Ability to conduct research and support in creating talent baselines for tracking

 

 MEASURES OF SUCCESS 

 

  • Having a broad knowledge People related functions, like Talent Attraction, Talent management, Retention Management, Career Development, Compensation & Benefits Etc

  • On time and effective delivery of Dashboards to all stakeholders

  • Manage the People analytics deliverables to support the wider capability development of the people function through people analytics

  • Build Predictive and advanced models in collaboration with the team

  • Work effectively with leaders from different cultures and geographies independently

  • Ability to understand and document stakeholder requirements

  • Identify the data quality issues and work with corresponding PX team to fix it

  • Create storyboards to communicate people analytics solutions to stakeholders

  • Create various tools to support COE’s requirements

 

Education, Experience &  other qualification requirements

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science or related to Statistics

  • 3+ Years of hands on experience on developing applications and dashboards

  • Working knowledge of MySQL 

  • Working knowledge of DOMO

  • Hands on experience in development of a tool end to end

  • Expertise in providing advanced analytical / Predictive solutions for PX

  • Experience in developing/maintaining databases and dashboards 

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness  to learn new technologies/tools  as needed
