Position Overview

The Human Resource Manager is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources to our manufacturing plant, and plant team members. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. The HR Manager understands the business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually effect improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company, The HR Manager will lead, coordinate and manager the value-added human resources activities, such as training and development, employee engagement & retention, employee relations, and overall employee services. 

General Responsibilities

  • Partner with client group leadership to ensure employee performance is maximized.
  • Manage employee engagement initiatives within client groups.
  • Ensure the company employment, employee relations and equal employment opportunity policies and practices are deployed within laws and regulations; Works with management team in resolving associate issues by investigating concerns and sharing resolution alternatives.
  • Create strategy, collect and present information, and advise organization leadership on appropriate action and represent the company as required.
  • Analyze client groups needs and set priorities ensuring critical talent segments are identified and a development plan is implemented.
  • Ensure succession planning is in place for leadership roles and critical positions; Ensure high potential employees are identified appropriately and developed.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure that all recruitment needs are carried out for the client groups.
  • Evaluate training needs; develop, deliver or through outside resources, provide a variety of training courses/classes designed to meet identified training requirements; establish criteria and measure training effectiveness.
  • Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale within a participative, inclusive workplace. 
  • Conduct highly sensitive internal investigations into HR or other business matters as required.  Prepare strategy, collect and present information, advise organization leadership on appropriate action, and represent the company as required.
  • Consult with legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law. Study recent legislation and court decisions to assess industry trends.
  • Participate in company-wide policy development and implementation. Recommend new approaches, and/or policies and procedures to effect continual improvement in department efficiency and services provided. 
  • Lead HR team in documenting and following processes within ISO-certified environment.
  • Assist in the communication and delivery of recognition processes and events, either company-wide or locally produced to be consistent with company Core Values.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures to include effective communications to associates. Advises management of fair and consistent application of all approved policies and procedures.
  • Works with Safety Committee and maintaining compliance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, economics or business management, or equivalent level of experience or equivalent level of experience.
  • Minimum 7 – 10 years of relevant experience in HR, Employee Relations, On-Boarding, Recruitment and Training.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures. 
  • Expert level of knowledge of HR principles, industry practices, and legal requirements related to HR policies and practices.  Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving/resolution skills and a team focus. 
  • Successfully manage by exemplary leadership, integrity and character.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to team members and leaders. 
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures. 
  • Build a cohesive team with the skills necessary to successfully execute the department and company objectives and strategies.
  • Ability to coach, empower and develop others to encourage individual and team growth.
  • Business acumen which demonstrates understanding of short and long-term business demands.
  • High paced/high volume manufacturing experience

  • PHR or SPHR
  • Master’s level education
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Principles
