Position Overview

The Human Resource Manager will support the Commercial functions including Sales and Marketing. This individual will administer domestic and international human resources portfolio services including recruitment, compensation, recognition, culture, communications, policies/ procedures, performance management, training and development, succession planning, employee relations and tracking of key indicators.

Responsibilities

  • Works with leadership to determine hiring needs; and takes part in the recruitment of exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Oversees new hire processing and onboarding (benefits orientation, computer delivery, desk space, allowances, credit cards, first week meetings, and acceptance gifts).
  • Maintains the commercial organization structures and reporting relationships in Workday.
  • Recommends new hire offers, internal market-adjustments, and promotions.
  • Manages incentives and merit plan administration in partnership with Finance and Compensation.
  • Builds/ maintains relationships with the business unit employee base.
  • Promotes positive workplace culture by creating recognition programs and supporting special interest groups that are inclusive and open to all.
  • Creates new hire, promotion and organization change announcements.
  • Drafts policies on an as-needed basis, either as an update to the employee handbook or as a stand-alone document, in partnership with Legal.
  • Facilitates performance management program completion by employees and management.
  • Manages the rollout and participation in required training initiatives for the business unit.
  • Ensure succession planning is in place for leadership roles and critical positions; ensures high potential employees are identified and developed.
  • Addresses employee complaints and conducts investigations as needed.
  • Assists management in employee coaching, development plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Retains and facilitates signatures on employee contracts and separation paperwork.
  • Conducts exit interviews and summarize data on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Tracks employee relations issues and summarizes for top leadership.
  • Manages annual audits, as needed, in partnership with Legal and Corporate HR.
  • Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or commensurate experience.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience practicing human resources and analytics functions in a mid-sized, global firm.
  • Expert level of knowledge of HR principles, industry practices, and legal requirements related to HR policies and practices. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex employee relations issues and provide recommendations for well-reasoned, practical solutions, and alternatives.
  • Ability to identify key talent risk and develop plan

  • Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for taking on a wide range of projects and responsibilities.
  • Ability to coach, empower and develop others to encourage individual and team growth.
  • Business acumen which demonstrates understanding of short and long-term business demands.
  • Ability to travel (10%)
