Truckee Meadows Community College is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 for the Math & Physical Sciences department. The Administrative Assistant 3 provides administrative support to the Department Chair and Faculty. This position requires a high level of organization, independent decision making, technical skills and mandatory office confidentiality. This position has responsibilities for greeting walk-in visitors, prioritize all calls and walk-ins according to importance. Communicate proper information to students concerning prerequisites; provide and explain information including applicable rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures with regard to the department; assist students when necessary to ensure successful enrollment into the proper class. The Administrative Assistant 3 is responsible for planning and ordering of supplies needed to maintain Math Department. Oversee, review, and interpret office budget. Submit budget reports from the WorkDay system. Compile PT/OVL budgets and budget projections when requested. Communication between faculty, students, staff and other departments is of the upmost importance and other duties as assigned.
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible related work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
